Appointments are on time, hardly no waiting period. Staff is very friendly and genuine and really helpful, this was my first visit here and I’ve been to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL, the wound clinic at; Middlesex hospital, Milford hospital, Yale New Haven hospital, hospital of St. Rafields, and for the first time in a very long time I’m coming away with a positive outlook, and Dr. Hsia’s nurse Linda is wonderful and understanding. Looking forward to my next appointment. If you have wounds that just seem to not want to heal I recommend you give them a try it can’t hurt. If my wounds do heal I will update this review

The staff at Yale Surgical are terrible. They leave customers on hold for over 15 mins then come back on the phone and call you by your first name so they really didn't forget you they are really lousy at their job. They also disregard what the customer wants and order what they want and if you don't like it they get mad at you and give you grief. I wish my foot doctor from Yale did not recommend them and he gave me another option which I will discuss with his office in detail. After 20 mins and 27 secounds finally received my fitting appointment.

Yale surgical has 3 ladies in their office that clearly are racist or miserable or both. I walked in there for the first time. Stood there for a ridiculous amount of time. Three ladies acting like they are to busy to say Can I hope you? I am the only person in the store it's totally dead. (I wonder why?) finally someone else walks in and goes up to the window and the girl says can I help you? So if I was at the wrong window why not share that bit of information with me? Those 3 ladies are not qualified to work with the public. I feel sorry for people like the 3 ladies working in Yale surgical. Maybe you 3 ladies should check yourselves into the Yale psych ward for clinical depression or for whatever problems that are ailing you.

Back in the USSR, yeah . . . My doctor told me to get the sort of item that regular pharmacies don't sell but that surgical supply stores do sell. Nearest such place to me is Yale Surgical. I go in and stand in front of a receptionist at an open window. She ignores me. A waiting customer points to the sign-in sheet. I sign in and stand waiting for about twenty minutes until my name is mispronounced (confidently, without a hint of doubt). I hand the person my prescription slip. She looks at it. I ask what the item will cost and whether insurance will cover it. She looks at me like I have some sort of mental or sensory impairment and explains in a condescending tone that I must first fill out a sheaf of paperwork (why wasn't I handed that at the outset?), and then, after she scans all the paperwork into their system, I can have a consultation with someone who will fit the device to me (it's got Velcro straps; it ain't that hard), and then I can wait while a clerk looks up the item and determines whether there is insurance coverage and the price. I said, "Never mind, I'll drive to Hamden," and walked out. Drove to Apex Pharmacy in Hamden and was taken care of properly. Hint: Even if you live in an apartment directly above Yale Surgical, you'll save time by going to Hamden.
