Yamato is a fun place to take the family on special occasions.  If you have a large enough party, you can sit at a grill/table without being beside total strangers.  The show is always good and it is a lot of fun to watch the kids react to the flaming volcano, etc.

The drawbacks are it is always crowded and reservations don't guarantee a time.  There is always a 15+ minute wait. They don't have anything for kids to do while you wait.  The food is good if you get some of the more expensive items, but if you are trying to be economical, it's only okay.  Drink water if you want refills because they are so to refill soda and they really don't come by to check on your table often.

The show is interesting every time with tasty food.  The place can get very busy and wait time is okay.  Family friendly place with a great friendly staff!

I've been going to this restaurant for 10 years now. And I've watched the food and service decline greatly! This place USED you have GOOD food and service but now it's a cattle call! All they care about is getting you in and cashing out as many people as possible! The majority of the cooks have little or no experience and the sushi at Publix is better than this place! This past Saturday night I chose to sit at a regular table because the wait time was over 60 min for the cook top tables. My wife and I waited over 1hr and 20 min for our food. We finally decided to leave and I asked for the manager and after explaining our experience his statement to me was "sorry we got really backed up on carry out orders" and he acted shocked that we were upset because of the wait. I'll Never go THERE again!

I had eaten there hoping to get a decent meal. The food was horrible and the service was 10x's worse. Everything was ice cold and the server never asked me how everything was. $30  for one person,  you'd expect something decent coming from the meal. I do not recommend eating here.

Watching the food be prepared is fun. The food is delicious. They might seat you with stangers if you're a small group. You should try asking for your own table if that's what you want... Also, sauce is essential. And it is pretty expensive.
