Well, after you've been to the Tetons, Yellowstone is just a bit too big and too long of a drive. While geologically interesting - it's not a place you can expect something exciting at every corner. However, most people seem to think so and they chronically drive 5-10 mph under the speed limit... Everywhere. It's NOT Disneyland people!! There are 100's of thousands of acres here so wildlife is probably not going to leap out at every turn. Be patient, be considerate and for heaven's sake go for a hike. Best time/ way to see Yellowstone: after Labor Day or by horseback on a several day trek. Best hot springs pools: West Thumb. Best mineral springs: Mammoth of course. Best Geyser - not Old Faithful... Check out the entire basin and bring water + good shoes. Expect an entire day to take in the Old Faithful geyser basin.

The best place ever!!! Love this National Park :) The roads are well marked. All paths are always clean and well maintained. Bathrooms and pull off area's for cars are plentiful. Do yourself a favor and take your time seeing this place. A must see if you get a chance!

Natural wonders second to none. Crowds. Exceptional wildlife. Crowds. Spectacular water features. Crowds. Outdoors at its very best. Crowds. The only place with enough parking is Old Faithful area. Aside from that, if you don't get to your desired location early, be prepared to wait/fight for parking. And yet, it is still worth it just for the spectacle of nature here. Words can never do it justice.

Loved this park, have been wanting to go there my whole life and it took almost 50 years to get there. Very exciting with all the animals, geysers, springs and bubbling mud pots. The Dragon's Mouth Spring was our favorite, and definitely the smelliest. We saw eagles, elk, buffalo, squirrels, chipmunks, Canadian geese, swans, antelope and raven. We will definitely try to get there again sometime. We stayed off-park so cost of where to stay didn't affect us much, except most RV parks start closing the 1st of October. We were lucky and found a nice quiet site. You won't be disappointed in this park.

Beautiful and wild! We entered from the west side and were soon greeted by a wild buffalo. The buffalo, elk, antelope, and prairie dogs didn't disappoint. Snow fall on the pines added to our adventure. YNP is a must see. We were limited to a good deal of the park because of snow fall and trees down on the road but what we were able to see was spectacular. We stayed in Jackson Hole and Wilson the second and third week in September.
