I went for walk in search of middle eastern food and found this place and was surprised with this hole in wall place. The restaurant is very small and not a sit down restaurant kinda place and more like Togo place but have the tell the food here is really tasty. I was really surprised with the taste and quality of food, will definitely come back to this place. Highly recommend the saltah! The person who was serving was also really nice :-
One of my favorite spots in SF. Excellent traditional food and prices, especially for lunch time before 3pm. We usually get one roasted lamb dish which is enough for two people. Also the Chai is made to order, and still only $2. Hope they get to expand one day and bring their dishes to a wider audience.
I can't say much but just glad we've found this place . Soooo good , authentic, owner super nice. We came early and decided to wait . He gave us freshly made hummus and Nan bread , the bessssssttt hummus. We finished everything. I also bring some of his baklava , a bit sweet but still best one I had for a long time. Don't forget to ask if he has available hade hot sauce , goes well with the roast lamb. Me & hubby are now a FAN!!!!
This is an absolute gem. I came in late in the evening before they were about to close. I asked what was good on the menu and was told to have the lamb. Lamb normally takes a long time to order at other restaurants, but the service was extremely quick. When Mahmoud first brought out the dish I was absolutely delighted. It's so much food for one person. As I was starting to eat, I realized it had been months since I had actually had some lamb that was this good. This food is seriously good and you have to try it. Don't dismiss this restaurant because of its location. The people here are very sincere and the food is authentic.
Authentic, delicious Yemeni food prepared with care. Homely decor with photos of the owner's football teams, and yellowed newspaper clippings. Eat here and you will not complain. I got the lunch special Roasted Lamb.
Great little restaurant! My 14 y.o. daughter and I had a wonderful lunch yesterday! I had a meat stew it was great. She had a "chicken sandwich" that was really a wrap. She enjoyed it. Very unique flavors. The location is a bit of a challenge... but, the food was well worth it.
Really great food and nice people running the place. Small seating area in spartan surroundings. It’s a bit of a rough neighborhood, but you knew that already. Well worth the expedition. Pick a bunch of dishes and get the Yemeni bread to go along with them.
The food was amazing, the space was small but would highly recommend the food.
Peace be upon you First of all I honestly thank everyone in the restaurant especially Mahmoud Hassan for the reception and dealing As for the food, frankly, I didn't eat the tastiest of it in America. Personally, I tried it with Salta, meat Mandi, and banana fattah, and it was very tasty. Of course, he also offered us tea, and it was in the Egyptian way, and very tasty, the best food even in Egypt. I recommend visiting it, and you will praise it completely
Such an awesome restaurant. Honestly wish I could come here more often. It's a locally owned place with original recipes. The food is delicious and unique. The Tea is phenomenal. I had the falafel plate which was filling and so tasty. The sauce is full of flavor . Cozy spot worth the walk.
