In July 2015 was involved in a very minor collision with another vehicle while we were both backing up simultaneously in York Harbor. I was an out-of state visitor. Two officers; one in training, responded to investigate. It was readily apparent that the officers knew the local family and applied partiality to the investigation. Both vehicles backing simultaneously, colliding in the isle way of the parking area, should both assume equal responsibility. Not in York, Maine! The biased police will always favor the local resident. Not that anyone cares but, I will never spend my money in York, Maine again. That minor collision, for which I had no damage cost me $500 per year for three years in insurance surcharges!

I was denied on a parking ticket appeal. Of the four bikes, in one spot, one was not ticked when we came back with change for the meter. We showed the purchase slip and the fourth bike was not given a ticket, but the other three stayed as they were written. So, one space, three tickets, three times the ticket revenue. I received the denial without any explanation and no one would transfer me to speak with a Sargent. So, from now on, as many bikes as we can get on our trips in York, we will now take up a single spot per bike and if visitors are unable to find a space, they can speak with the Sargent if they can get through to the person at the department. Great Police force Mayor. Way to have interest in revenue and not people.

Hello, I was pulled over tonight for going a bit too fast just past the light (one between Anthony's and York Fitness Center). I was heading northbound and ended up slowing down to the speed limit just prior to the officer (I never got his name) followed me for some time. I fully admit I was going a bit too fast before I eventually slowed down and when he followed me, but regardless, I was honest about my wrongdoing (albeit I know most of that double lane stretch of RTE 1 is 50-55) and our exchange was pleasant and understanding of the situation and of one another. Anyways, regardless of the details, I would just like to put in a kind word for the officer who did pull me over (unfortunately I never got his name). He was very patient, polite, kind, understood the the deceptive speed the cars can have that are made these days, and overall he was just very professional. This occurred between 6-7pm tonight, Tuesday Jan. 21, 2014. Hopefully this info narrows down who the male officer was and I would appreciate it if you could please send him my best and a follow up thank you. I learned from my mistake, while also being fortunate enough to save vital money that can now be put to gas, oil chage, etc. I'm happy that lessons (tonight) can still be learned without people always having to pay for an honest mistake. Thank you York PD Respectfully, Michael M. Hamilton
