This place is amazing at being mediocre unless you have a drink. The amount of alcohol will make everything they serve become magically the most heavenly, magnificent food you've ever tasted. Here's what to do: sit in a booth, tables are over-rated. Tell the server you want a margarita (you choose your flavor, my favorite is all of them). Once you receive it, order waffle fries and gringo dip and the border attack with one chicken and one beef (the server will understand). Realistically, only eat half or you'll be too full. Take the rest home for when you wake up hungover tomorrow. This is the greatest way to maximize your trip to 54th. Good luck!

Love their homemade bread. The Gringo dip is absolutely amazing as well. Only 4 stars cuz my steak wasn't very good. I've never had a problem before so hoping it was just an off night for the cook. Still recommend eating here though.

One step into the 54th Street Grill and Bar and I instantly knew why this had been my number one choice while rolling though the area. As an avid traveler, I often rely on the reviews of others to make my decision on where to go. The reviews seemed like it would be a great place to try, but NOTHING that anyone said could have prepared me for the experience I had on this warm March evening. The place was a virtual explosion of eye candy, as stars of old such as Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Charlie Chaplin and many others adorned the walls. Hanging from the ceiling were old metal riding cars, guitars and many metal signs. My eyes were literally engorged with wondrous things to explore. We were seated in a booth and greeted by the waiter Cole. He had a great professional air about him that spoke volumes about his being proud to be a part of making this place what it was and still is. His timing was impeccable and he worked hard to make this an experience that I'd remember. It also needs mentioned that the cook staff was spot on in making the food not only delicious, and beautifully presentable, but also timely. Having worked in a restaurant, many years before this, I was impressed at the teamwork I saw in this group. When one was busy, the others would run their food, fill drinks and help to ensure the customers were well cared for. Now, the food... Oh the glorious food. I ordered the Fry Me Some Cheese (cheese curds), a Gyro and seasoned waffle fries and a chocolate cake (with vanilla bean ice cream) for my dinner. I will start with the cheese curds... They were tiny and packed with a flavor that left me awaiting the next one. The marinara sauce that was served with it was a fantastic compliment to their already delicious flavor. My Gyro, (and I've had MANY across this country,) was the VERY BEST one I've ever had the pleasure of sinking my teeth into. The meat was juicy, the veggies fresh, and the cucumber sauce was succulent... But it was the feta cheese sprinkled on them that gave them a zing unlike any other I'd encountered. The chocolate cake was complimented well with the ice cream, and I found myself wondering if the cake would have been half as good without that vanilla bean flavor thrown at it. My man had the Grilled Chicken and Rice, and I thought to myself how boring that sounded when he ordered it... But when it came out, it was anything but boring. His plate was colorful and very large. It was filled with grilled veggies, chicken and rice... And even grilled pineapple. He was extremely happy with his selection... And I must admit, that I too was overjoyed with mine. Their shirts boast that they were established in 1989, and it is simple to figure out why they're still going strong. On a Wednesday night, when most restaurants are slow... This place was hopping with a constant flow of people. This speaks volumes about the locals knowing what's good. The 54th Street Grill and Bar makes it to a very high ranking on the Rikki Recommends list. If you haven't been there... Go. You will not find yourself disappointed when you leave.

I had my monthly luncheon with a group of friends there. There were probably at least twenty of us. The servers took the orders and had the food out amazingly fast. They also ran separate tickets without a complaint, and everyone in our group was happy with the food and service.
