Story

When it comes to managing your pet’s ongoing health, we offer convenient in-house diagnostics, including an on-site laboratory for fast and accurate test results. We are especially skilled at ear problems and skin diseases. Our highly skilled surgeon uses plastic surgery techniques to minimize post-operative scarring. I'm not one to write reviews, but I feel like this one is important. My old cat got sick, my previous vet is not longer practicing and I needed someone to look at him. I called about five different clinics around the valley and not one could get me in that day. When I told them my cat was sick and I didn't want to wait for a future appointment I was told, in so many words, "okay" so I hung up. When I called A Gentle Vet I spoke to a very kind lady who told me they didn't have any openings until Friday but if the cat needed to be seen that day they would work him in for an additional fee (completely understandable). This was the only clinic that acknowledged my cat being sick and offered to make accommodations to help. I accessed my cat and decided he would be okay to wait a couple of days. When I arrived at my appointment I was greeted by the young woman at the counter and told an emergency had taken place so they were a little behind. While I waited I was periodically told they were working on getting me back and made sure I knew the Dr. was aware I was waiting. When I got into the room the veterinary technician thanked me for waiting, asked a few questions and accessed my cat. She was extremely nice, non-judgmental, and seemed to care about my cat and comfort. As she was leaving the room she told me the Dr. would be in shortly, and then asked if I wanted any water (surprised? I was too). Dr. Olson came into the room, introduced himself and again apologized for the wait. We talked about the basic health my cat, he is old, blind, and has no teeth but has been healthy up until now. Dr. Olson performed his evaluation and went over possible issues. Now, I've seen many vets and been to many clinics, this is where I am most impressed with Dr. Olson. He told me he would go over options and let me decide where we started with treatment. He was not at all pushy about expensive diagnostic procedures and was fine with starting with antibiotics and working our way up if needed. He prescribed one antibiotic and told me to add a supplement to the cat food. He told me they sell it at the clinic but I can also get it online, he cared about the health of my cat, not just making a profit. When I checked out the women at the front desk were professional and friendly. When I was told the cost of the visit I was a little bit surprised...it was reasonable! As I was standing there I realized this would be my new vet. Someone who understood that the key to good care, returning clients, and healthy pets is being reasonable. I strongly believe that more people would be able to be better pet owners if there were more vets like Dr. Olson and if more clinics treated their clients the was I was treated today. When I left I immediately called my friend to tell her about what a great experience I had, as we have both had issues with other clinics. She will be heading here as well. Thank you Dr. Olson and staff...you made a difference today.

My dog was very sick when I went to A Gentle Vet. They were amazing with my dog and very honest with me. They told me how much everything was going to cost and left the decisions up to me. They also took the time to follow up with me days later. I loved my experience there.

Dr Olson is the best!! I am very particular about who treats my pets as they are family members who are loved dearly. Not only is Dr. Olson able to accurately diagnose and treat them but he sincerely cares about all his patients. Then his staff is reliable and able to quickly answer simple questions. This is a vet I'd recommend to anyone. This clinic is 45 minutes away from my home and worth every minute of the drive to obtain thorough treatment for my fury kids. I even have a 14 yr old lab that now acts as if he was 8 again.

I brought my kitty in on a whim because my regular vet was closed and we needed immediate treatment. I couldn’t be happier with my experience and I’m even considering changing vets. The staff was kind, they fit me in day of, seemed delighted with my cat (who doesn’t love when some one flatters their pet), and the doctor was just wonderful. He answered my relentless and sometimes repetitive questions with patience and made wonderful recommendations. He gave us every option regardless of price but also advised us of the best course of action that wouldn’t break the bank. I walked away feeling like my cat got the absolute best care that she could have. They were even considerate enough to put their K9 patient in a room so our exit from the lobby didn’t cause a ruckus and stress our kitty. I’m really thankful for Dr. Olsen and his staff and looking forward to future visits for our additional cat and dog.

Staff was friendly, facility was clean. The vet himself was wonderful, my dog doesn't like many people but the vet was patient with her and helped her calm down. The price was very reasonable, and everyone made sure all of our concerns were taken care of before we left, even though it was late. I fully recommend them!
