Final charge came in $2K over estimate. Inquiries to Walecka were not returned. Went to Atlas (national company through which Walecka was booked) because I learned that this level of overage could be disputed, according to contract. Atlas has been helpful, but Walecka really dropped the ball. They did not help one bit when inquiring about the overage, and emails were not returned. Very disappointing from a local, family-owned company.

My wife and I were in the process of selling our home I East Wareham,Ma and were looking for a moving company to pack and load our furniture into a container for shipment to our home in St Thomas USVI!
Low and behold we found someone who was directly in our own neighborhood..,A Walecka & Sons Moving Company in Wareham!! Huge props must be extended to Brett Walecka and his entire team for their professionalism, honesty and the timely manner in which they conducted their business.
   Walecka gave us an honest and fair quote and they came to our home the day before the shipping company was due to arrive to wrap and pack everything to pack in the container the following day!
The next day they arrived on time and packed and secured our possessions into the container for its journey to the Carribean!
Our items arrived in St Thomas USVI and were delivered in excellent condition which is proof positive of the awesome job performed by Brett and his team!!

Many thanks once again...we recommend Walecka for all your moving needs!!

Wow...we moved using Walecka because they are local.  Bad choice.  During the move they damaged some very expensive bedroom furniture by literally dropping it off the truck platform.   When we sought to file a claim we were sent a form without any idea of how to fill it out. Once we completed it and returned it, we head nothing for 2 weeks. I called and they said their outside furniture repair person was trying to reach us...which we never received a message from.  A week later, the guy calls us and comes out a week after that point.  He basically stated that the furniture was damaged beyond his capability to repair it.  This was 4 pieces of a 15k bedroom set that is no longer in production (Michael Armini)   Anyhow, 3 weeks later I call to check in on the status of our claim, and get the run-around.   Obviously, they don't want to pay for the damage.  We even bought the extra insurance to cover us, in the event of a problem.   We moved 3 months ago...claim still outstanding.   Last call was...I gave it to the general manager??   Isn't this why you pick a reputable firm with seasoned professionals?

If I could give a lower rating I would. We order inventory thru a vendor on the west coast- unfortunately the shipping company subcontracts our delivery out to this company. These people hold our goods 2-3 weeks prior to even bothering to call to schedule a delivery. Unorganized, rude, and unnecessarily slow. We are currently trying to do anything we can to AVOID this company at all costs. Of course as our merchandise is sitting in their warehouse for 2-3 weeks people have taken products out of pallets and damaged the wrappings. I have no idea how this company is still in business. Avoid them at ALL costs. Your money is better spent elsewhere.
