Huge store with all kinds of equipment and clothes for men, women and children. I stop in when I want a good price and I can't find it in the local store. I've bought hiking shoes, boxing gloves and a swim cap and goggles. I have a friend that buys golf and baseball items for her son here. She buys tennis supplies. They have camping supplies, hunting supplies and fishing. T-shirts for men, teenagers and women. I like to look around at everything. Exercise equipment, tape, and yoga mats. They have an excellent source of Georgia Bulldog shirts. The latest of everything.

The employees here are very helpful. They really seem to know their department. There is plenty of parking and the parking lot is well lit if you go after dark. They will usually open another register if needed. The store is well stocked.

I went to go purchase a firearm, and even though I was next to be assisted I was ignored and overlooked. I had to go find another associate who was a manager to assist me, my cousin was a witness to this by the way. I also understand that Academy price matches with certain companies, so I showed the manager an exact firearm from Cabela's, who is one of those certain companies Academy price matches with. After a few minutes another manager came and tried to discredit my price match saying "we don't have that color fire arm, so it wouldn't work, however I was looking at the exact firearm in the display at the store, needless to say he was wrong and he had to walk me to the counter to transaction out, to me he had a disgusted look on his face but tried to put on great customer service. However, at the end off the day I got the firearm I wanted for a great deal, thanks for the price match plus the extra 5% off. Was the situation caused because I was an African American male with the knowledge of firearms who has my weapon's carry permit and a clean criminal record, that knew the company's price match policy? If I ever was to shop at another Academy it will not be at my local one, which is located at 2907 Watson Blvd, Warner Robins, GA 31093, I will just drive another 15 to 20 minutes to the one in Macon, Georgia.
