Good place to sleep. We had one of the cabins in the back. So heard no road traffic. Was a quiet and peaceful night. I believe the place reopened recently after being closed for winter. The water lines had air in them, no big deal. But when we first got their the room was colder than outside and the fridge wasnt plugged in. The free breakfast was also good.

I stayed at the Lockview Motel for the Harley Owners Group(HOG) Rally 2017. It is located directly across the street form the locks so it's easy to go watch ships when they come in. Only about 100 yard walk to the viewing platform.
They were ROCKSTARS for the bikers! (But that being said it is a family business that does not put up with a bunch of stupidity. They are family friendly). They keep a bunch of old towels to wipe your ride down if dirty or wet. They treated us great and the breakfast was good too. Can't say enough good about them. I WILL be back here next trip to the UP.

Lockview Motel is an excellent place to stay.  You are right down town, a couple of blocks from the locks, which are fun to see.  Many great places to eat, including the free breakfast in the office area, and a restaurant right next door.  We have a two queen size bed cottage with free wifi, refrigerator.  Two sinks and a very nice bathroom.  Clean and neat.  The staff is very friendly and very helpful if you are looking for something in particular.  I would highly recommend this place.

We got the room with a window that faces the Soo locks. The rooms are clean, the staff are awesome. There are patio table and chairs out front so you can people watch. It is right in the middle of all of the shops. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are well put together and clean. Wonderful location, right along the strip and directly across from the locks. The modern amenities are quite nice, between the modern TV and the speedy wifi. I do wish their continental breakfast featured any fruit--they have the standard complement of bagels and breads and cereals, and they provide the fixings for egg and sausage sandwiches, but no oranges or bananas or apples. There is fruit juice, but it's not quite the same.
