This is anything but a "last resort". Very clean and inviting. Basic but updated. No goo or eww if you know what I mean. This will be my first go-to when traveling to the area. We met the staff in the morning too and they were very friendly.  Perfect price for what they provide: a clean and spacious room for sleeping.

Friendly folks, neat and clean room, convenient to the locks and downtown and across the street from the freighters. Fall colors were great and it was a pleasant and quiet stay.

We spent 3 nights here, and enjoyed it immensely. The room was clean!! This is very important to me, and the bed comfortable. They have a microwave, and a small refrigerator. The caretakers were very friendly and accommodating. Giving us directions for scenic routes for our motorcycle outings, and restaurants. They have a nice outdoor area with table, and grill, and​ had just added bicycles to their list of amenties. You are very close to the Soo locks. The St
 Mary's river is across the street you can watch the freighters as they go by from the parking lot, and room window. The rates were very reasonable. We will definitely stay there again.
