What an awesome place to get some trail running training! I'm training for a ultra trail run and this was perfect. There's so many trails and such a vast majority of elivation shifts that your options are endless! If you're going to run or hike I recommend the trails that are designed for just that. The trails that are open to all types of activities was OK, but I loved having my solitude and when I took one of the all traffic trails I had people walking dogs, alot of bikers and big trucks working on the trails. So just and FYI, on the others it was just me for the and I loved it!!! I saw about ten dear in a three hour time span and so many other animals. Thankfully no big cats!

I love this hike. The initial climb up to the top can be somewhat challenging but once you get up there, the view is amazing. Lots of trails and places to explore. Bring food and plenty of water. This park offers free parking which is always a bonus.

Massive park with TONS of hiking trails. Great way to get outdoors and there's some really impressive views of San Jose on all the trails I've tried so far. In addition to that there's remnants of old mining buildings and informational signs on some of the trails too. Even after hiking here for years I still haven't seen everything. Highly recommended!

Just a beautiful area. I was a first time visitor and thought only that the trails might be more clearly marked, especially at a place where 4 trails met. I hiked from the mockingbird lot (a large lot with bathrooms) up Hacienda trail to the English Camp. Because I had a destination, the difficulty for me was choosing the trails to get where I wanted to go, so I had to keep referring to Google Maps as I went.

An absolutely amazing place. The park is absolutely beautiful offering plenty of views, including those of the Almaden and the Santa Clara Valley, as well as offering plenty of trail for the adventurous to explore. The park also contains plenty of old buildings, and plenty of signs and charts that offer visitors the information and history behind the buildings and the park. And the best part about it is that it's free! There's no parking fees, and the park offers maps for free as well. However, if you're planning to park at the Hicks Road parking space, make sure to watchers out for the bikers! The road is quite narrow, and there's plenty of blind spots, meaning that there's few oppurtunities to pass the road bicyclists who commonly traverse the road.
