I stay regularly at Americas Best Value Inn in Opelika and enjoy the quiet atmosphere and laid back personalities of the staff. My room is always clean and smells wonderful. I travel quite extensively and this motel is a favorite stay. As with most motels there are times when things are not a 10 on the scale but then since I have stayed at some of the best motels this country has to offer and some of the worst and have had an entirely enjoyable stay experience. The continental breakfast offered at this motel has always been enjoyable and filling. From the hot waffles to biscuits and gravy it excels over those motels who offer only coffee and a cold bagel.

This was disgusting. We were charged 149/night for a 1 King Bed as we evacuated for the hurricane from Jax FL. This was the only hotel room we could find within reasonable distance at the last minute. My two year old daughter was with us and I was absolutely disgusted. The room smelled, I had to clean the bath tub before she used it, dead bugs, live bugs, disgusting grout, disgusted carpet, disgusting bed. The front desk was ever torn apart. Did you open a closed hotel because of the hurricane? Other hotel guests told us they were charged half of what we paid for the same room. We did book on Hotwire and have been on the phone complaining and filing for a refund. This is disgusting. Way to take advantage of people in their moment of need.

Traveling in for the Auburn football game, most rooms were booked well in advance. This hotel had rooms available for a decent price just days before the game against Arkansas. Though we checked in very late at night, there was no issue checking in. The room was a little outdated, but really all we needed was a bed and a TV, so who cares. My only negative things to say about the room was it wasn't super clean. There was hair all in the bathroom (including on a clean towel...), and there was no shampoo, conditioner or bath soap (which I unfortunately didn't realize until I was already in the shower). All in all, an okay hotel to stay at for a night for the game, but not one I would choose for more than a night. It's only about 10-15 minutes away from Jordan-Hare.
