Used to come here when it was just a bushwhack over to the canyon to hang out and explore. I have to admit, it is nice that the trails are well kept and there is now decidedly less trash strewn about in the canyons. Be Warned!!! The canyon gets narrow and steep, so do not bring your super young kids, dogs, elderly family members through the canyon (use the switchbacks to get to the top). Once you go up in them and there are people behind you, it will be very difficult to back out -- you will force everyone to do a reverse conga line.

I lived in San Diego for 15 years prior to moving where I live now, but just found out about this place on my last trip home. What a cool place! The view from the top is amazing. We took the "strenuous" path up. It wasn't really difficult for us, but it did get very narrow at points and required some large steps up. We took the other path going back to the parking lot. It was a lot easier but not nearly as interesting. I definitely want to go back.

This was an awesome short hike. I went with a friend. I used to run the area a long time ago and don't recall this being around. My friend gave me the history saying it used to be full of graffiti end the lady who led the clean up of the canyon was named Annie.

Short walk/hike to the canyon section (something close to a 3/4 to a mile). You'll meet a fork in the road, path on the right takes you into the canyon where you boulder to the top. Sign says it's strenuous, but it is completely manageable. Just be careful, the rock that your climbing up on is sandstone, and can very slippery.

One of my favorite places to go, I first started coming here about 4 years ago, and the view never disappoints. The only thing is I wish we were still able to go all the way to the top. Maybe create something that will help preserve the land and make it safer since they already are allowing people to get close to it.
