About

Home of the Great Oregon Steam-Up. Antique Powerland is a power equipment heritage site with 15 individual groups/museums on the 62 acre property.

Story

The Great Oregon Steam-Up is the largest event at Antique Powerland during the year and involves all of the museums and many other participants. The Great Oregon Steam-Up occurs annually during the last weekend in July and first weekend in August. One of the unique aspects of the event is that most of the equipment is operating. A parade takes place each day at 1:30 pm and includes vintage tractors, trucks, and automobiles. The steam powered sawmill operates twice a day and the trolley tours the site perimeter all four days of the show.

Learn about the early machinery that made Oregon work. Hear about innovators and manufacturers of the past. Machines include farm tractors and implements, early engines, crawlers, fire apparatus, vintage trucks and cars, logging gear, an early Oregon flour mill, and an authentic steam sawmill. Rides include an historic trolley and a miniature railroad.

Scheduled activities: Machinery demos, sawmilling, flour milling, fire apparatus demos, harvesting, kids pedal tractor pulling, traditional tractor pulling, and a Big Parade!

Other Attractions: Blacksmithing, a country store, models, early electricity exhibit, miniature farm display, children's passport program, swap meet and flea market sales, country music, and great food!

Mission

"to provide the public the opportunity to learn about the history and operation of machines and the role they played in modern technology and the quality of life"

One of the best places the U.S. has to offer on the history of anything with an engine. Multiple beautiful museums modeled after by gone eras. A must see if you're in the area!

This is a "must stop" location. Plan to spend the better part of your day here. Coming here is like a time machine that takes you back 50, 75, or 100 years. You get to see everything just as it was from streetcars to agriculture, fire apparatus, trucks-you name it and it's here. Probably several models of it. Everything is meticulously restored or preserved in working order. The static displays: sawmill, blacksmith, power plant, etc. are amazing. This place really comes to life every summer for their annual "Steam-Up". People from all-over bring their restored equipment for live display. I plan my summer around this event. It takes place the last weekend in July and the first weekend in August. I'm there all 4 days and never feel like I've seen it all.

I highly recommend this Museum. Even though we visited in what I would consider the off-season the manager / greeter was extremely helpful. He called ahead to make sure that several exhibits were open or available and checked on us throughout our tour we virtually had the place to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed it. We plan on going back next year for at least one of their activities. Thank you!

If you come during the 'Great Oregon Stream Up' event there's almost countless things to do. To the immediate left of the entrance is a set of bleachers for watching the tractor parades. Farther left is Willow Creek Railroad, a 1/8th scale model railroad that offers free rides. Heading away from the entrance on the left you'll find a shack serving hotdogs and the like, an old fashioned store, and, finally a large flea-market containing a plethora of interesting antiques. It should be noted that on the other side of willow creek is a stop for the trolley line, but I don't think you can buy tickets there, so you'd be better off trying at the main station. Heading strait from the entrance you'll find a collection of mini machines. Farther on you'll get too several craft shops such as blacksmithing add wood working. To the right is a working steam sawmill (pictured below) that has shows every half-hour. Outside is amazing ice cream made with steam power. Sometimes a group that has military vehicles also sets up outside. On the right of the sawmill is the trolly station that was made from wood cut at the sawmill. Heading further up and right from there is an antique car museum, fire truck museum, steam crane display and food carts. Restrooms are located to the right of the enterance and near the station. There's a ton more stuff beyond that, but my thumb is starting to hurt.
