We went as a family to the Christmas event they have every year. Santa was on the third floor of the main building and it was free! All crafts were free as well. We did so many crafts! The museum taught us a lot about the textile manufacturing trade and the conditions these workers dealt with. Made you thankful things have changed since then. The grounds were beautifully decorated with lights and you could get these little glasses for $2 so when you look at the lights little pictures would show. You have to see it to know what I mean. There was also a little cafe spot to stop at for food and drink. They had popcorn and different popcorn balls. Mac n cheese, sandwiches, hot cocoa, hot cocoa adult drinks, and beer. They had cookies and stuff too! We had so much fun and will be going back next year. I bought our tickets online at their website and they were emailed to me. I just showed them the email on my phone and that got us in! Totally worth the time and money. I would recommend bringing your littles! There are also vendors! I didn't know this do I'll be bringing money next time. They also have all kinds of gift shops, too! My husband also had fun and that's sometimes not always accomplished going to these things. :)

I volunteered as a parking attendant during the first 4 nights of "MAGIC AT THE MILL". It was excellent and all that came and saw everything that was going on left with big smiles and quite a few of them said that they didn't even know what the Mill really was and were going to come back more often. There was things for the kids and adults alike. Singers dancers historians and so many lights that could be seen in 3d with special glasses.

Heavily focused on the wool mill--we expexted a borader history of the area. That aside, we found it very interesting. A volunteer tour guide gave us an in depth insight into the industry and culture around wool production. Even my teenagers stayed interested.

At Christmas time they open about a week before from 5:30-8:00(don't quote me on times)for Christmas festivities for the family, mostly for kids. I have only been there 2 times and both at Christmas, there's hands on crafts and art for the kids, baked goods, vendors selling there goods, Santa is there for pics, plays and music. My granddaughter learned how to work the loom, was pretty cool. The only thing they are strict on is closing at 8pm, I think because they run off volunteers, oh and it does get crowded.

We went for Magic at The Mill. The Christmas lights and music were wonderful. Santa himself seemed to be enjoying the evening. We will definitely be back to explore more history.
