If there was a lesser number than #1, that would be to high. Nothing but miscommunication. Wrong test ordered. Bad patient care. Bad attitudes. Belittles patients. Acts like we're all little robots. Get them, move them out. Done. I left thinking I'd never go this clinic again...note I only had one visit that more than enough. Did my own research....problem solved. They called last week to let me know I had a reimbursement of $40+ due to me, they need my current address, ok no problem. This was a reimbursement from a Visit, my only visit back in 2015. It's now 2018. Checks in the mail. Right

I felt the need to review Arizona Arthritis after taking my elderly mom to the clinic in Phoenix. My mom was seen by Dr. Chohan. After a difficult time at our 1st visit, I sent in a fax to the CEO of the organization requesting a different rheumatologist in the group and asking that the xray tech modify how she treats individuals that have reduced mobility. The office manager called us back and said it was against their policy to move patients to another rheumatologist in their group. I asked if she had given the fax to the CEO and she said she had. The office manager said we should find a different organization. I asked if she had spoken to the xray tech so as to not endanger patients and she asked why? At that point, it became clear that she hadn't read my fax. See below with the details of the fax. Fax to CEO of AZ Arthritis and Rheumatology: My mother, Mary had an appointment with Dr. Chohan this past Wednesday, January 10th. During this visit, there were several instances that made her visit much more difficult than necessary and I wanted to let your staff know. My mom has several complex medical conditions. Her physical condition obviously reflects her diminished health. The 1st disturbing instance was Dr. Chohan's reaction to mom's upcoming kyphoplasty which is being performed by her pain doctors to relieve the pain and reshape the spine where she has a compression fracture. Dr. Chohan was insistent that there "wasn't a good enough" reason to have it done. Dr. Chohan was quite dramatic and persisted without paying attention to mom's reaction. Mom demonstrated extreme anxiety and was clearly upset. When I asked Dr. Chohan to please be careful with how she talks to mom, Dr. Chohan said mother was just showing that she was happy. Dr. Chohan was oblivious to mom's physical responses and uncaring about mom's distress. I asked that Dr. Chohan send notes to Dr. Dais and that we would do further research. Since that time, we did do research. From what we see, vertebral cementoplasty is the standard of care for management of these types of fractures. It is easy to perform, effective and safe. Mom intends to go forward. There was no cause to put mom in that stress as Dr. Chohan was not only outside of her area of expertise but also showed very poor "bedside manner". The 2nd disturbing instance was when mom went to get her x-ray for the bone density test at your office on the same visit. Mom had her home health aide, Danielle, there to assist her with her mobility but the x-ray tech shut the door on Danielle and said "we don't need you in here. The room is very small". Danielle waited outside. The tech told mom to get up on the table and told mom to turn on her side. Mom said she couldn't turn on her side and the tech said "well I'm not going to hurt my back". There wasn't anything for mom to grab onto but the tech wouldn't assist and she wouldn't let Danielle in the room. This is obviously cruel and dangerous treatment. Given the poor treatment, we are asking to switch to another rheumatologist in your group that is a better communicator and more professional when dealing with other specialties. We'd also like the x-ray tech to understand her reckless treatment so that mom and other patients are safe in your lab. End - fax My mom did have the kyphoplasty. The procedure went extremely well. Mom no longer has the debilitating pain where her fracture was. Not only was Dr. Chohan wrong, she handled the situation very poorly. Be careful taking your loved ones to this doctor and facility.

I was referred to AZ Rheumatology by my primary care doctor for muscle weakness. I was able to get in to see Dr. Chohan within a couple weeks due to a cancellation, but it takes a long time to actually get an appt normally. I spent most of my appt talking with her P.A. and giving my medical history, then saw the Dr. for like 5 mins when she told me they were going to order labs. Fast forward two weeks and they tell me that the labs don't show any diseases that they treat. So I need to see a neurologist, but they could do the EMG testing at AZ Rheumatology so that when they referred me to neuro, they'd have my results. Dr. Sucher is amazing. I went to see him for my lower extremity EMG one week, and then saw him the next week for my upper extremity EMG. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have had my thoracic outlet syndrome in my upper extremities diagnosed. I was able to see all of my appointment and test notes on the patient Follow My Health site, and saw that all of the other tests didn't show anything, except for the TOS in my shoulders. Yet, they still wanted me to see Dr. Chohan to "go over the results" with me. I was upset and told them that I didn't need to see the doctor in 2 weeks so that she could tell me what I already know. So I cancelled my appointment and asked them to send my information to a neurologist that I found, they didn't even tell me one to go to, just said go see neuro. They never sent my information. So the only positive thing I got out of that place was Dr. Sucher being a good caring doctor. The staff is mostly friendly and nice, but the way the company is ran is horrible. It took me 3 months to find anything out. I'm now in physical therapy for my TOS, and plan on just doing PT for my lower extremities as well since I doubt I'll be seeing a neurologist anytime soon.... I don't recommend AZ Rheumatology unless you need an EMG.

Just moved to AZ have lived in 3 other states meaning I have had 3 rheumatologists one from each state. All were good, helpful etc... This clown called Dr. Bennett is horrible, unprofessional and clueless. The clown known as Bennett told me he "didn't believe I had rheumatoid arthritis". I've had a positive rheumatoid factor for 20+ years. I told him the meds that work for me, he refused to prescribe Sulfasalazine which helped me for many years. Why! Because the clown does not want me to feel better because there would be no need for his recommended follow up in 6-8 weeks and for the clown to make money off my suffering. I feel bad for folks like those of us who have RA and live in this area because we have limited choices for finding a good rheumatologist. We need to pray that this changes because what I witnessed while sitting in the waiting area is that this place is the McDonalds of rheumatology.

I don't even know where to begin!!! Waited 3 months for an appt. Got 2 min Dr time after her being 45 min late!!! No customer service, terrible wait times, get brushed off, and can't e even speak to a Dr about your lab work or questions. Have to pay another co-pay!! No answers to what's going on with me, and so much more. Never been so disappointed.
