The lines are long, the staff are disrespectful and treat you like your ignorant. They don't know whats customer service. They work to work. Wish they also know what they are doing. The older lady kept asking for help to a Latino. She didn't know Puerto Rico was part of the United States and kept asking me if I was Mexican. That's disrespectful.

I thought that I would do a review update. I am currently going thru a continuing disability review right now. I am 43 have degenerative disc disease of the spine, asthma, severe hearing loss and learning disabilities. I first applied for access and food stamps in 2012 at the now closed McKinley office. The people there we're extremely rude and inconsiderate. Back in 2015 when it came time to re apply for services DES gave me a hard time on phone when I requested an interview over the phone. The lady asked can't you come down here? When I told her that was not possible because of my condition she said if you want your medical and if you are hungry you will come down here and wait. Now that I am going thru this review I got a letter from them stating I would need to go to one of their specialty exams at no cost to me. I will go as it is required. I am aware they are under staffed and over worked. That is why in many cases I will not say all because I believe in being honest the reason they say no cost to person is so they can pay the doctor off to write a clean bill of health on the person even though the person has much wrong with them. They don't want all the paper work that goes with getting the person on disability rolls or to keep them on it so they look at an easy way out and unfortunately in most of these cases they will reach out to the deaf, hard of hearing, mentally disabled or learning disabled people thinking they wont catch on, won't understand what is happening or won't be able to advocate for themselves. By the time these client's realize what is happening sometimes it's too late. In many cases these clients are treated like babies or small children where the state makes decisions for them as to what kind of finical, medical or food resources they can have and if they don't behave like good babies or small children they stand a chance at going with out such resources. Without such resources these clients who also have serious medical problems would like wise go without a roof over their head in which it takes money to rent a place, would go with out medical in which this could cause a serious health risk, and would go with out food and go hungry. You would not do this to a baby or small child you would not do it to a disabled adult. They say they are trying to build a stronger Arizona and be their for the needs of the disabled population and this is the way they treat these people. What a shame.

If it were up to me I would gice a ZERO rating. These people tell you to call only to not be able to get through. Dial tone after entering phone number is all I get. When I call from my cell i get a recording stating the number is invalid. No wonder people never get the help they need. I'm from Colorado and their system is 100 times better. They actually care for their people.

Absolute nightmare...tell you to get here at 6:00 am, then all employees in a staff meeting until after 9:00 a.m. I was previously told to help make faster to do an application online and would be taken in for interview right away. 4 hours later, still sitting in ratchet smelling lobby, waiting. Government again at it's finest. This office fails, should have went elsewhere. Avoid this office at all costs!

This year I have struggled and finally put my pride aside and decided to apply for my son and I. I came in it was really crowded and hot inside. I waited in line for almost an hour just for them to tell me they are not accepting interviews. I talked to a few families. No one is really fond of this location because always dirty and crowded. You can arrive early before it opens and still have wait hours to be seen. Some employees are helpful but most aren't. I hope it changes in the future.
