I took my wife to this restaurant on our way from a long trip home from Texas. She has a dairy allergy and we had already had a hard experience on the trip with another restaurant. This restaurant was wonderful and my wife was beaming. We sat down and saw at the top of the menu that they cater to allergies. Then the owner came over to our table and the first question was do you have any allergies. He then told my wife some specials he had with no dairy. We had two appetizers (cauliflower soup and the wheat pita bread and oil). I highly recommend the cauliflower soup as it had so much flavor we could have had it as the main meal. I had the burger with white beans. The beans were full of flavor and the burger was delicious. My wife had the falafel salad and was so pleased with her meal. This means so much to us to not only find somewhere that could work with her allergy but somewhere that offered her many choices of delicious healthy food. We had to try the baklava to finish our our trip and I'm glad we did. It looks like we will be traveling to Charlottesville for our date nights.

WOW, I really can't decide whether the service or the food was better!  Hassan and his team create the most delicious dishes... my mouth is watering just thinking about the amazing meal we enjoyed a few nights ago.  The team makes you feel like you're over to their home for a Sunday dinner; they are so personable and attentive.  They are extremely well versed in describing all the different sauces and spices in each item on the menu.  The wines are wonderful, too.  First class service and amazing cuisine.  You will enjoy it, and it's a terrific value.

Just terrible. You walk in and are immediately put at ease by the very charismatic owner - you order some things, he makes suggestions and is very attentive, very chatty, always talking a lot. The food takes a long time to come. It is pretty good, but also a bit too expensive all things considered. 

Then the bill comes and it is egregious. The house special the owner "suggested" was $10 more than anything listed on the menu. The entire receipt is itemized and every drink, every dish has the same name "SPECIAL" and the price next to it. The owner suddenly switches to being absent and then extremely rude when you try to talk to him about the receipt. He does not help with figuring out what each item ordered was. He says they do not do separate checks.

This guy is a crook. He pulls you in, is very chatty and over the top and tricks you into ordering a very expensive meal, creates a receipt system that makes it difficult to realize just how much he screwed you over, and then suddenly is quite angry and doesn't talk anymore or disappears.
