The hubby offered to take me to breakfast, which brought a smile to my face, because I’ve had my eye on “Around the Corner Restaurant“, in downtown Edmond. I’d read the reviews about this place and couldn’t wait to experience it myself. Upon entering, we were met with a pleasant greeting and informed that we could seat ourselves. After finding an open booth, we noticed our table was covered in crumbs and water residue left from the previous dining guests. No big; we had the waiter wipe it down. Meanwhile, we took our time navigating through the menu. After placing our orders, we found ourselves distracted by various crossword puzzles on the back of the menu, due to the lengthy amount of time that we waited for our meals to be served. Despite the wait, I was pleasantly surprised by how tender the chicken-fried steak, that my husband ordered, was. Dare I say, it was also well seasoned . I decided to indulge their breakfast burrito, with which I was able to make substitutions. It turned out great! This restaurant also offers eating outdoors. However, due to the 90 degree weather, dining inside worked best for us. Perhaps, other species felt the same as it became bothersome when a few flies found their way to our table, which for me and I’m sure, most, was a total turn-off.
This is the best place to get breakfast in the Oklahoma City metro. Prices are great, staff treats you like family and you cannot beat the food. If you get breakfast I HIGHLY recommend pairing your meal with a glass of their hand squeezed orange juice, it’s to die for!
This is where the locals eat. Second time coming and it doesn’t disappoint. Breakfast items cooked fresh and very delicious. Plus prices are very reasonable and haven’t been affected by the high inflation. Two meals with a side orange juice was about $16.
Great food. Friendly place love the decorations this time of year. We got waited on by a unicorn . Dietary restrictions: We eat keto or diabetic diet
This is a cute little diner. The food and service are pretty good.Food: 4/5
We are adventuring in Edmond this morning. We chose Around the Corner. It was good! Chatty busy morning but my waffle was good. The ham was tender and flavorful. Hubby had omelet and biscuits. They use plenty of butter. Seriously, the food tasted great!Food: 5/5
Quaint little diner in downtown area. Food was very good. We had the chicken fried steak sandwiches. It was real steak, not a fritter. They also had hand cut fresh french fries.
Service was good. Food average. Ordered scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, home fries, and biscuits and gravy. Bacon was not crisp, home fries/potatoes were soggy, with bell peppers and onions which were unexpected. Couldn't eat the potatoes tasted old. Will probably not eat there again.
Absolute best "breakfast diner" experience around! The cinnamon rolls are better than the ones at the state fair. Worth the drive from anywhere in the state. We loved it.Food: 5/5
Was looking for a restaurant to "shop local". This little dinner did not disappoint. Chicken fried steak was freshly breaded not frozen Which was a Wonderful surprise, as most places seem to pre-pread there CFS never good imo. Prices were reasonable as were the portions. We'll be visiting again in the future- just not at the height of the lunch hour. It's EXTREMELY noisy when at capacity.
