The retailer in Salinas, CA is a total SCAM. My husband and I purchased a bedroom SET and was told by the sales associate, Tito, all the items to be included in the set. As a Memorial Day promotion, the set would include bed frame (header and footer), box & mattress, mirror with dresser, bedside table and 5 drawer chest. We confirmed with Tito several times (over the course of many hours in the store) the set content and was assured that everything we saw was included. When the furniture arrived, the 5 drawer chest was missing. Figuring this might be a mistake, we wanted this corrected peacefully over the phone. Instead, Tito insisted that it was not included and hence, was not listed on the invoice. The owner, Greg, is just as useless. They clearly don't care about the Ashley brand as they refuse to correct their mistake. In fact, Tito said something along the lines of "I don't care if I get fired." We purchased A LOT of furniture from Ashley (including a leather sectional couch, TV stand and office desk) and I cannot believe this service. We will NEVER shop at Ashley furniture again and will officially file a report with the BBB. Ashley is a SCAM! Do NOT work with Tito. He is a LIAR! In fact, do not purchase from this store. Greg, the owner, cares a rat's ass about quality & service.

Prior to ordering from the Salinas Ashley Store, of course I read ALL the negative reviews. For the price point and the design aesthetics, the furniture fit what I was looking for - I was obviously concerned about the negative feedback. When I visited the Salinas store I expressed my concerns right away - the sales staff were very accommodating and respected my concerns. One big lesson I learned from the reviews was the misperception, misunderstanding, and possible deception between the buyer and the sales staff. I made sure I understood what was exactly included (itemized), how much the price was, the probability of it being backordered, delivery process, who I contacted if problems, and anticipated date of delivery. I misunderstood a few things and they did as well but by the final sale, the order/purchase/delivery date was flawless. Delivery came as scheduled with an advanced notification. Delivery staff were professional and well prepared. A tip was given to the two delivery staff - well deserved! I spoke with the store manager Hector. It is a bummer and unfortunate that his store review ratings are so low - I told him that I am sure there are plenty of good ratings that are not posted. Buyers tend to only post bad experiences - I don't disagree with the bad experiences but just make sure your expectations and order are clear - review detail of your order - price, inclusions, exclusions, availability, and delivery. Good luck - Salinas Ashley is a great store and I am planning ordering more furniture in the near future!
