Fantastic little motel. Friendly and helpful proprietors, extremely pet-friendly, only 30 minutes from Crater Lake's Rim Village area, and a good value. We stayed here for one night with our dog and they had a little doggy bucket ready for us when we arrived. There's an area behind the rooms where dogs can run around freely as well. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable with all the basics.

Hands down some of the best, friendliest service I have received ever. The ladies at the front desk were not only warm and welcoming but informative; going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, maps of the park, and directions to the lodges. Would definitely stay here again. Crater lake is only a short and beautiful 20 minute drive away, making the location prime especially for the reasonable room rates.

We were visiting Crater Lake National Park and trying to find a place to stay in the area. The Aspen Inn Motel absolutely fit the bill! This is a great little spot, as it is extremely close to the park. The owners of the motel were extremely friendly and helpful. Being an older motel, the rooms were an average size. I know that some reviewers have complained that there were few amenities, but at such a reasonable rate, that's crazy!  The beds were comfortable and the furniture fit the feel of the motel. They provided fans in case it got a little warm during the day and there was a nice warm heater because temperatures definitely fall in the evening and are downright freezing cold at night even in July! One of the most impressive things was that the room was EXTREMELY clean and the bathroom was absolutely spotless!  Thank you for a wonderful stay! I will definitely be staying here again the next time I visit Crater Lake!

As far as visiting crater lake go, this is about the closest to the lake you can stay outside the mazama campground and the lodge. The room is compact but clean. The bathroom/shower very well done--which is important in summer with all the dust in the trails. Motel owner is friendly and helpful. As a side, it is most definitely LGBT friendly. 

The motel is geared toward providing an economic place to stay for the park goers, so there isn't much entertainment provided. My kids did get a kick out of seeing the VCR for the first time though. If you want entertainment, go out and visit the parks.

Wonderful experience! We were greeted with a smile and a cookie for our pooch. Heidi also gave us directions to two great nearby parks.   The room was very clean and comfortable. They even provided us with extra sheets and towels so our dog could sleep on the couch. If you're traveling with a dog and are looking for a place to stay near Crater Lake, definitely consider the Aspen Inn!
