I have shared a few reviews about this eatery to corporate. They do not care. The same folk are there, non caring, not interested in serving you, they seem to not even want to be at work, EXCEPT Erick. He works nights. He was there 2 yrs ago, went away and came back. Customer service skills excellent. He wants to be at work, he is pleasant, and makes an excellent sandwich. The 5 star goes to Erick

Food is very expressive small soup for four dollars salad and sandwiches close to ten dollars. It's not off the chart food but it is fresh. The employees don't seem very happy or interested in their jobs. I always try to leave them with something positive to help make it known they are very appreciated.

Very disappointed in Au Bon Pain.  The food is too expensive for what you get.  I've been disappointed a couple of times, but continued to try a few things to give it a fair chance.  November 30th was the last straw.  I bought a sandwich and was VERY disappointed (see attached pic).  There was hardly anything on the bread, and the sandwich cost more than $8!  The employees acted as if this was the last place they'd rather be - took at least 4 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me standing in line.  At that point, there was only one other customer waiting for her food so the place was not busy.  I tried to write to the company that same day and give them a fair chance to respond; however, I never received a response (this was almost six weeks ago).  I will not go back.

Standard chain outlet.  This one is in the VCU health hospital so a limited menu and limited seating.  If you are at the hospital it is pretty good.  Not a destination in and of itself.
