I went to these guys to have two amps, front components, and a sub installed as well as a "custom" sub box built. the total for INSTALL only was 2000!!!!! the sub box with labor was 800$ itself and was a tiny box (0.4 cu ft at best) made of simple MDF board and may two curved cuts to it. not much at all (i was expecting maybe a nice fiberglass custom fit for that price). When my front speakers were installed they put dynomat in doors and when i got back my windows had serious problems moving in the door now. I handed them a cadence ia7 amp that puts out as much as 1000W at 1ohm 500W at 2ohm etc and a Fi Q audio sub (10" ) dvc 2ohm sub rated to 1000W. he wired the sub in series which means the amp was powering at 4ohm and way less power to the sub than it can handle!!! so he said that since the sub was not good (no loudness or movement) he put the gains high on the mids to compensate... well if you had wired it in parallel the damn thing would HUM (vide infra). so i have been listening to a horribly tuned system for a while when i finally decided to start looking into things on my own. first off i noticed the two RCA's from the HU to the sub amp were actually placed INCORRECTLY!!! one RCA was placed on the input of the amp while the other was placed in the OUTPUT!!!! WTF??? so i simply placed both RCA's into the input and then wired the sub to parallel and wouldn't you know it, the sub is now pounding!!! i didnt' have time to look at the rest of the wiring but with these simple mistakes, it makes me wonder what else is wired incorrectly???? i would highly recommend looking elsewhere!!!
