Showed up right in time after an overnight train trip form Chicago, there were 4 employees cramped in the little Avis cubicle, bummer for them. A employee promptly helped in getting me checked in and was headed to the garage to pick up my car in no time. I usually use Enterprise but Avis had the best one way route price so I went with them. Good experience.

You need to enter from H street North East into the carpark above the station. None of the Avis documentation makes this clear. FYI

Slowest car rental service Ive ever experienced. Literally been waiting 45 min to get a rental and still hace 4 sets of people ahead of me. There has been no communication from the employees regarding the delay. The employees just keep lookin at the long line and conversing. Currently about 14 people in line. Totally the worst rental place ever.

I was stuck in DC due to a flight cancellation and a sold-out train, but had to get to Ohio to meet my family for Spring Break. The Avis team at Union Station put me in a great car at a great rate in no time and I was on my way. Extremely pleased with their service. Didn't make the drive any easier, but they saved my weekend for sure.

Awful! Avoid at all costs. I dropped my car off and they tried to charge me an additional $80 in deductions, extra fees, and penatlities. The manager David is unbelievably rude and has terrible customer service. I spent a total of 8 hours on the phone with their corporate customer service and they agreed to reimburse me $70, but they only ended up giving me $30. When I called back for a 5th time they said that their supervisor would not approve my full reimbursement, even though I was told $70 and giving confirmation numbers.  Awful company and I will never use them again.
