Normally, Hertz for me means fast and efficient service..and then you can be on your way.

Not this time.

The girl at the front disc tried to get a hold of the  people who had the car for a long time, and ended up just closing down the office and going looking for them.

Getting a GPS for the car was a major undertaking... almost impossible,

When we finally got the car the tank was not full and as we discovered later the  In car charger for the GPS was not working, and it took some extra parts from a wall mart and some Jerry rigging to actually get it working.

They need more people at the desk. Waited a good 40 minutes to get my car and there was only two people in front of me. Glad I got there early but yikes.

If you get a traffic ticket in DC (easy to do because many DC residents only rent cars in an emergency and get photo speeding tickets), the company will auto-pay your ticket. This REMOVES your ability to dispute the ticket in DC. Do not rent from them unless you're okay with the risk of being auto-charged $100 or more without the ability to dispute the charges in DC.

Smooth pick up and drop off. Manager Vernon was very kind in assisting me (on Memorial Day no less), and even allowed me to take the car out again to fill with gas (as opposed to paying $9.99 a gallon or whatever their per gallon charge is). Please note: the counter inside the building of Union Station is rarely staffed -- head straight to the garage / rental car pick up area.

This was my first and last experience with Hertz. The manager l, Yvonne was incredibly rude and I ultimately ended up working with another associate after 3 hours of waiting for an online reservation to be sorted out. Upon returning the car I found out that my lisence number was switched with another person, causing issues and addional fees that were not on the original receipt at the time of rental that the manger would not even discuss resolving or taking off. I was told two different answers by both employees I had worked with. It was not worth the time and energy.
