Axe Monkey Guitars is a locally owned "mom and pop" music store dealing exclusively in guitars as well as all other fretted instruments. The Axe Monkey, Nate Silkwood, attended Galloup School of Guitar Building and Repair earning his certification in 2013. Nate honed his skills in his shop in the basement of the family home offering his services to friends and family in the southern Illinois area. In addition to repairing guitars, Nate played lead electric, rhythm, and bass guitar in bands for over 40 years. This combination of musical knowledge and technical expertise, when it comes to guitars, serves our customers well when they consider a guitar or amp purchase. New product lines include Alvarez and G&L guitars and Orange Amps.
