Babcock’s Service Center’s ASE certified technicians repair, service, and maintain your vehicle at our auto repair facility. Our services include all aspects of mechanical repair and maintenance for all makes and models of automobiles. We are conveniently located in Cockeysville, within minutes of Hunt Valley, Timonium, and the metropolitan Baltimore area.
Licensed Maryland State Inspection Station for passenger cars, light trucks up to 10,000 GVW and trailers 20 ft. or less.

I discovered Babcock's when I dropped a friend off to retrieve their car. I was struck not only by how friendly the entire team was but also by the $.75 cent coca-cola machine in their lobby!  Nothing like a bargain on an ice cold can of coca-cola!  Smitten, I asked if they'd be able to handle some chassis repair on our 2002 Toyota 4runner.  Thousands of them are victims of rust and it's hard to find a shop (even collision) who are willing to handle the repair. But not Babcocks!  Because it's a specialty part it requires some fabrication which they source or as in my case, I found a shop on eBay that's already handling that component.  I ordered it and Bacbcocks did a great job of installing/welding that component in place. Looks great (not that anyone can see it... but I can) and the truck is safer now.  Quick and efficient to work with... I highly recommend, thank you!

Can you give a rating of ZERO!
We took two used vehicles from out of state for the required one-time MD safety inspection. Our experience was terrible. The inspector failed several items that I later verified should have passed. 
1) Each car had a stone chip (barely visible) in the driver's side windshield. The MD requirements are not perfectly definitive here, but give several guidelines that seem to accept the stone chips of that size. (It is up to the discretion of the inspector)
2) The inspector would not allow the insurance-covered resin repair for these two chips, claiming that the only acceptable repair was two new windshields.
3) The experienced windshield installer we used, first, couldn't find the chip, and, second, couldn't believe we were being forced to buy new windshields.
4) The inspector stated we needed to remove two decals from the back windshield lower corners, saying they obstructed our rear vision. When I demonstrated that the decals were not visible from the rear view mirror because the back headrests blocked them, he stated that the rear seats should be folded down when the back seats are not occupied. REALLY??? We still resisted, he called up a state trooper, who confirmed we were correct after we waited an extra hour. The decals stayed.
5) He flunked 6 out of our 8 tires, even though none of the tires had hit the wear indicator stripes, and I would have liked to have waited until the winter to change them.

MY RECOMMENDATION: NEVER GO TO BABCOCK'S FOR A SAFETY INSPECTION.

Took my car in to be inspected after hitting a really bad pothole. They were incredibly friendly and service was quick!

We took out horse trailer there to be inspected that we are selling  .  I was very happy that they found a few issues with the lights and quickly took care of the problems.  Its good to know station that is honest and friendly.   I been doing business here for many years.  Thank you

Have been taking my cars to Babcock for years and have always been impressed by their honesty and workmanship.  I don't think they have ever tried to rip me off, offering suggestions when trying to fix a problem.  For instance, knowing my cars tend to be older they frequently offer repair options, such as used or reconditioned parts.
