If I'm being honest, after a few years of eating at Balans, it has really gone downhill. As one of the few breakfast spots in Brickell, I've watched the food quality and service decline rapidly as of late. The last few times I stopped for Sunday brunch, the food was served cold. The breakfast potato side was taken back and given back to me cold (again) with uncooked onions and peppers. Add to that the horrific smell of the tables (try using dry, clean cloths to wipe them down) and I'm unsure if myself or the flies enjoyed my fruit more...was treated like a heathen when I asked for a plate to cover my fruit from said flies. Either way, it'd be nice to see this place get back to what it used to be...a great spot for ANY meal and service with a smile...I know that is asking a lot in Miami, but come on!

Amazing food, but horrible service. I was so excited to come and eat here. I felt extremely profiled. Our server Danielle said good morning to the people next to us but she didn't say good morning or anything to us. She just asked "are you guys ready?" With a horrible attitude. She was checking up on them but didn't check up on us.

I work onboard the cruise ships and this is my only place on Saturday mornings, seriously i love it!! Staff amazing, fast service and free WiFi so I can upload my reports. Eggs Benedict with crab... thank me later it's Amaze!!

I had great experiences at this place in the pst but last night my perception changed. Out first server was very pleasant but was going home and we closed out with her to tip her accordingly. The new server was very rude every time he approached the table and to make matters worse, he wanted to charged us for more beers that what we consumed. When I approached him to tell him that he was overcharging us, he became defensive and extremely rude saying that if it was in the bill is because we consumed that. The manager was engage but the attitude was the same, she said that if it was in the bill and the computer, then it was because we consume that and that we were clearly too drunk to remember how much we consumed (I stopped drinking after 4 beers, 3 with the first server and 1 with the new rude server). At the end, the manager decided to take off two beers but we were still being charge for more than what we consumed. It is not a matter of how much the beers cost but the fact that we were getting charged for additional items that we did not consumed and the attitude from both server and manager towards the situation. (TO THE OWNER: please provide me with an email address of phone number to reach out to you) I was out of the country and was unable to reply earlier.

Service is painfully slow and I kinda feel the servers don't care. But, go for the hookah! The hookah is the best and the only reason we ever go.
