Balsam Mountain Inn is a 105 year-old railroad hotel in the NC mountains, near the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains, Dillsboro, Sylva, Waynesville, Cherokee and Western Carolina University.
The historic Balsam Mountain Inn was opened in 1908 to serve the highest railroad station in the eastern United States. Located a quarter-mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway and 25 minutes south of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the inn welcomes guests with fifty cheery rooms, rocker-filled porches, a warm library and gracious dining.
