First off, we made reservations weeks ago, we were given the ski package rate on the phone and it's verified through the paperwork we have. Were told we would pay cash when we leave and will get the $50 rate when we present or ski passes. The rooms were decent, nothing special, the hallways were filthy and there was a smoke detector that chirped outside our room the entire time. The food was typical continental breakfast, it was fine. So on our second day in Maggie Valley we get our bank card denied, turns out they put a hold on our bank card and charged the full price. We call from the other side of the Smokies and let them know the issue and Mr Patel said "We will not give you the ski package rate and your card has not been charged, we only put a hold on it.". We were not told that this was going to happen. No biggie, we'll just use the cash we were going to pay them even though it's on the other side of the smokies hidden in what is now proving to be a creepy hotel, but we reserved the room with the ski package rate, and they are lying about that. Mr. Patel was informed we will need to speak with him when we get back. We get back and of course he had ran home to avoid us, the night clerk said "Mr Patel will be back in the morning." So come check out the next morning I wheel everything out to the car and pack up, wife stops by the desk and imagine that, Mr Patel was sick and would not be back (Oddly, none of them showed up this day) until after we had to leave (wait, he's sick, yet scheduled to come in after we are scheduled to leave?). Needless to say they removed the hold and charged us full price, and when we call they do not answer the phone. Ramada corporate better make this right, but Ramada in Maggie Valley is run by a crook and a coward.

I have been staying up here pretty often for snowboarding. They have a waffle machine! Complimentary breakfast is pretty decent, they have just about everything from boiled eggs, English muffins, bagels, cereal, coffee etc. The rooms are pretty good here with a mini fridge and microwave. It's super close to the Catalooche Ski Slopes and I'll keep coming back.

This is the loudest hotel I've ever stayed in.. Was Woken up at 6am to room doors slamming and it never stopped the hole time we were there.. Every room door shuts by it self so every time someone went in or out the door slammed... Would not recommend if you like peace

I will never book a room at the Ramada Limited in Maggie Valley again-ever. They sold my room to another person the day before the solar eclipse. It was going to be near impossible to find another room. I called the week before to confirm my room because I was nervous about the crowds coming to the area. They confirmed I had a room. Between the time of booking and the time I went to check in my bank sent me a new card and changed the number. I realize this is not the fault of the Ramada Inn as I didn't notice it myself. They checked my card the morning of check-in and the card was of course declined. They said they tried to call me (I was in the area) but I never received a call. When I arrived 20 minutes after check in time, I didn't have a room. What I want to say is this: Ramada, if you were going to cancel my room before I got there, why didn't you confirm a few days before? Or why didn't you wait until check in to see if I was going to show up? I think I know why. You could charge someone else a lot more money because of the eclipse and the shortage of rooms. Thankfully the nice lady that works there (unlike her manager) pulled some strings and found us a mountain lodge. The sad part was it cost me $150 a night and I had booked the Ramada at $70. I won't return to this hotel because of the way I was left high and dry. By the way, the pool is an over sized bathtub (literally) right next to the lobby with windows were people can see you not-swimming.
