I've had a checking account with BOFI for a little over a year and recently opened a savings account. The experience so far has been stellar. Quick reimbursement of any/all ATM fees! Great interest rates on both checking and savings! No minimum balances or hidden fees! I wish I would have switched sooner!

We chose this Bank for our mortgage through Costco. They did not meet our closing date despite having all documents 3 weeks prior to our closing. We were delayed because they did not provide our final closing disclosure in a timely manner. Apparently there is a law that we have to acknowledge receipt of the document at least 3 days prior to close. And to top it off, the disclosure was incorrect. They did not have the correct numbers from the sale agreement and included items we had already paid for. We weren't even aware of the requirement until it was too late to do anything about it.

They are terrible. I send a $3000 Mobile Deposit to them to fund my account. They took the money immediately out of my old bank and then proceeded to hold my funds for several days. I almost had my mortgage payment bounce because of this. I chatted with them and they finally agreed to release the funds. After they were released for a day, they put them back on hold. It took almost 9 days to have access to my funds that they already had possession of. After emailing them they send me a canned response saying I had agreed to their terms and conditions. Stay away from this bank. Their service is horrible.

I opened an account with NETBANK which is owned and controlled by Bank of Internet about 3 months ago at that time I was not informed of the limitations on my account. For the last 2 months I have regularly had an ACH direct deposit made from a business that I regularly complete work for. Yesterday 11/10 as usual the funds were deposited into my account and a short time later I asked about having funds wired from my account and I was sent a form to fill out and send back. A short time later after making several calls and providing what was asked for I was told that wire transfers were not available from my account. Than last night at 7:00 pm I attempted to log into my account and received notice that my account was on hold. I called in and was informed that after 3 months and over $10.000 being deposited and spent from my account that further proof of my identity was needed. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone with a representative who essentially refused to get me a supervisor and said that it would be at least MONDAY before my account would be released. I was left unable to feed my family or pay for my 6 year olds birthday party and I am unable to return to work because all of my money is being held hostage!
