There is a sign posted at this Barnes and noble today (1/20/18) that this store is CLOSED. I wish it wasn't so. It's hard losing all the bookstores due to online commerce. Truly bummed about the news and sad to not have been able to visit again.

Worst experience ! First they sold me a membership card claiming I will receive 10% off on a book I intended to buy online. Then it turned out that the discount is not applied to that specific item ! So I tried to return the membership since I did not used it. I called Barnes & Noble customer service, they said I am able to return it within 30 days of buying it. I went back to the store to return it, store manager refused to do it. She said it is not in our policy, even though customer service said it is ! I argued with manager and she refused again. I called customer service in front of her and they reminded her with their policy which I could actually return it. She was so rude ! At the end they asked for my receipt which I did not have at the moment ! Very bad experience and rude attitude toward customers ! Never will walk in to any Barnes & Noble.

I'm sad this Barnes & Noble is closing in January. Shame on the landlords of the building lot for raising the rent too high for a bookstore to stay. It's been an anchor for that street for years. Truly a shame.

Passing through Bethesda on a trip and needed a place to hang for two hours. Typical B&N, hence three stars. Staff was very helpful, though.
