This is my usual camping place when I visit Barstow. There was quite a bit of upkeep work going on and the better, larger showers were locked up. The swimming pool was a mess and not open. I understand this type of work is necessary but in the past it was done more discreetly.

Excellent family destination. I first visited here in the 1950's & had wonderful memories. Boy has it changed. Typical tourist attraction with lots of gift shops but still a fun place.

Sites are staggered so you don't feel too close to your neighbors. Nice view of the desert and hills. Lots of open space. Walk or ride right into the desert. Calico is fun and so interesting.
