Story

When the local Rite Aid closed shop, Pharmacist David Kilgore saw a need to fill in the local community. David opened his own Beach Pharmacy just blocks away, devoted to serving locals, the 'bread and butter" of his small business venture. He now runs the store with technician Kelly Sanchez. Maintaining the pharmacy has become a family affair, as David's children, Ashley and Andrew Kilgore help out whenever they can.

I have been a Beach Pharmacy customer for over 3 years and I can tell you that they are second to none. The pharmacists are extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and will go out of their way to put their customers first. Pacific Place Shops, where they are located, is a wonderful location and very nice. Their store is clean and offers a wide variety of items ranging from candy bars and drinks to must have accessories for beach goers. The average wait for medication has been no more than 10 to 15 minutes for me. The personal touch that they offer is a pleasant and refreshing change from the retail pharmacies I have experienced. After reading the reviews posted here, I am not sure where D Allen's wife went, but it wasn't Beach Pharmacy. Beach Pharmacy doesn't have food aisles, nor do they have non-working lights and I have never seen their floors filthy. They are a pharmacy not a convenience store like what was described in his review.

This place is a dump and I can't imagine how they continue to stay open unless they are paying off someone in Va Beach city government and I am really surprised the Health Department hasn't shut them down.  My Wife and I were having an extensive re-model done to our home on the North End and we decided to stay a few nights in one of the hotels at the beach that is fully equipped.  We figured we would buy food and other items and if we ran out of something we didn't have there were plant of places to get it.  The first day we were there my wife and I went to work and when she got back to the hotel she walked over to Beach Pharmacy to pick up a few staple items she wanted and got the surprise of her life. when she walked in.  The floors were filthy, the shelves were a mess, several lights were out and more.  When my Wife took a look at the food aisle things got even worse.  Almost everything was out of date and many of the items looked like someone had played football with them.  Many of the bags were ripped open and it looked like someone had actually tried to sample the product and my Wife thinks she saw mouse pellets in several of the food items.  When my Wife finally found a Manager he got smart with her and kept saying there was no problem and when she offered to show him he threatened to throw her out of the store; not a good way to run a store or to keep happy customers.  My Wife and I are back in our home now and I have talked both with the Mayor's and with the Health Dept and hopefully something will be done about this dump.  What terrifies me even more than any of this is these people store and dispense medicines there in addition to the other things they sell.  Needless to say my Wife and I won't be going back.

What? A pharmacy where they don't hate you, where they don't try to be difficult, where they ACTUALLY call you back?  It is hard to believe but there is one left.  This is it.  There are no others.   Darren is so knowledgable frankly I wish he was my doctor.   They are just the most caring helpful little pharmacy I've ever encountered.  I would never go back to the horror show chain pharmacies.  I would give them eleven stars.

You know you have an outstanding pharmacy when your physician is left in awe by their helpfulness. I am in Virginia Beach on holiday and, my first morning here, realized that I had left my carefully packed medications at home in their pill case. Since one of them is a DO NOT MISS medication, I was in a panic. it is also very expensive, at nearly $3,000, and I couldn't afford to pay a full refill out of pocket. The pharmacist at Beach Pharmacy listened to my problem, took my insurance information, and went to work. In less than an hour, I received a call back with confirmation that the medication was on its way and that the insurance company had authorized a one time vacation override. When I told my doctor, who I'd called in case a new prescription was needed, he said I should thank the pharmacist for her efforts. It was almost unknown in his experience to be able to get a refill under these circumstances. So my unstinting appreciation to the fine employees at Beach Pharmacy!! I couldn't be more pleased! As a privately owned, non-chain pharmacy, they went the extra mile.

The people who work at this pharmacy are the best. They go out out of their way to make sure you the customer is happy. If they dont have what youre for they will order it and get it as soon as possible. Very friendly and. Knowledgable!
