Jim greated my husband and I with the details of our purchased package and two glasses of champagne. Then proceeded to give us a detailed informative tour of the mansion and it's history. The amount of detail he and his wife had put into the complete restoration of one of Alton's beloved historical sites was beyond breathtaking. They had many different nationalities represented in their antiques that literally cover the mansion from floor to ceiling. All of which are appropriate for the time era they had in their vision. They offer a 24 hr tea (if I had to guess... More than 15 different flavors), cider, and coffee as well as a fabulous and complimentary chocolate buffet, chocolates ranging from the childhood classics to a more rare collection of goodies (all calorie free ;)!) He then escorted us to our room. It's was absolutely amazing. I can't say enough about how beautiful our room was. I live in Alton and it felt as if we had been transported back in time and to somewhere far, far away. The bathroom was clean and fully stocked with towels and robes. The Whirlpool bathtub was perfect and never ran out of hot water. The best part, by far, was the bed. Elegant and the most comfortable sleep I've EVER had! Truly phenomenal. I WILL be staying again. If you're wanting a truly unique experience, try them out.

Amazing place. Wife And I were there for our 10th anniversary. Jim was just awesome, the history of the mansion was incredible. The breakfast in bed was wonderful, will definitely be coming back some springtime to see everything in bloom. Highly, highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed at the Beall mansion for 2 nights recently to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The mansion is beautiful and has been tastefully furnished with period pieces. The rooms are elegant, clean and comfortable. The chocolate bar was wonderful. Jim is a mine of historical information about the mansion and the surrounding area. We found Jim and Sandy to be very warm and welcoming. In short, if you are looking for an elegant, sophisticated B & B, then look no further.

One of the most beautiful bed-and-breakfast we've ever stayed in and we've stayed in a few.. just minutes away from live music and good food in downtown Alton great time...

We had our daughter's wedding here.  It is a wonderful elegant place for a small indoor wedding.  We had 60 guests, and it felt just right in the space. The staff was attentive, even changing some of the decor to match her colors.  The cake is included in the package, and is provided by Duke's bakery.  It was delicious.  We opted to have the string quartet play for a few hours, and Jim contracted with them for us.  We were able to plug in my daughters ipad and play through their sound system for the rest of the evening. We stayed in the rooms upstairs the night before and the night after.  It was so nice to be right on site and be able to prepare and recover right there.  I just felt like we were in this beautiful bubble for the weekend.  They made sure every detail was attended to.  I can't say enough good things about Jim and Sandy and their excellent staff.  I can't wait to go back for a visit.  We will always have lovely memories associated with this place.
