I have never had a bad experience here. I always do my best to try new things every time. Honestly, it doesn't matter what you get it will be delicious. The turtle cheesecake was my favorite this time. Definitely a must when I'm in town!!! Can't wait to visit again!

I purchased two cakes at the bakery today. Both exceeded expectations. The first cake was a watermelon cake. The baker got EVERYTHING right and it was picture perfect. All of the guests loved the frosting and thought it was fun that the inside of the cake also looked like a watermelon. The second cake was my son's first birthday smash cake. It was so cute and had a "homemade" look to it. I usually get donuts from this bakery but I will always make sure to buy my party cakes from here too. They pay attention to detail and make the best cakes I have ever had.

After remitting a $12.72 payment for a total of 6-regular glazed donuts, I selected between 5-7 napkins.  Immediately, the woman (I didn't take her name) working the cash register grabbed my napkins and took 3 napkins and stated " These napkins costed the bakery money, you don't need that many".  I asked for the store manager/owner and she stated "Oh, He's going to tell you the same thing", which he did.  During the conversation with the manager/owner, I asked what is the price for the napkins, and he stated "The napkins are free".  My point exactly.  I will pay for quality, but when a business is not conscious on providing an exceptional customer experience, "that" business will no longer receive my service.  Poor, poor, poor experience.

The owner Ross just does not care about his customers.  They have tasty items but I can not support a merchant who just couldn't give a darn about his customers.  They closed an hour early the day before Thanksgiving without notifying anyone that had baked goods on order, holiday pies and sides.  We showed up at 3:20 (all signage and website shows 4 p.m. close time) to locked doors and there were half a dozen other customers there not understanding why the doors were locked as they had pre-ordered items that needed to be picked up. When I spoke to him the next week he could have cared less that I was unhappy or anyone else for that matter. Please do not support a merchant with this type of attitude.  Alpine Bakery on Highway 5 is outstanding. They have given great customer service and saved the day.

For years I have LOVED Best Dang Bakery!  I tell my husband every year that is where I want my birthday cake from   Unfortunately, this past month I had a VERY bad experience with them.  I order cupcakes for a baby shower a week and a half before the shower.  I ordered a dozen Red Velvet, a dozen chocolate and a dozen vanilla.  I went to the store twice before I ordered to talk about decorations since the sex of the baby was not known.  When I called to place the order it sounded as if the man on the other end was on the phone.  Placed the order with all the details to be picked up on 10/2/17 at 1:00p.m.  I arrived on 10/2 at 1:00 only to find they had written down the order for 11/2.  When I asked okay now what do I do the guy just kind of shrugged his shoulders.  I asked what can they do and he said we can't do Red Velvet but we can do the chocolate and vanilla.  This was a problem because the mother-to-be LOVES RED VELVET!  I said okay, make the other two dozen and I will go find a dozen Red Velvet.  Thank you Small Cakes for coming to the rescue.  I got a phone call after I left the bakery asking me the sex of the baby!  I told the same guy (wish i had his name but he has worked there for YEARS!).  It should be on the order.  We don't know the sex and they were to be decorated in white icing with pink, blue, yellow and green decorations.  He said no problem and hung up.  I went back to pick up the cupcakes at 3:00 (3 hours before the shower).  They brought out one box of cupcakes and when he opened the box I was so upset!  They had had slapped pink, blue, yellow and green icing on the cupcakes and put white sprinkles on top!  Nothing I had asked for and anyone could have done that.  Looked a like a cupcake out of a box.  I asked where was the other dozen, because there was just one dozen chocolate.  He said they were coming out.  When the other young man came out he had closed the box already.  I asked him to open it.  When he did it was another dozen CHOCOLATE! I asked him where were the vanilla?  He told me they didn't have any.  I asked him why didn't you call me?  His answer was I don't know.  He did not seem one bit concerned nor did he offer me any concession.  I told him how unhappy I was and asked what was he going to do?  Well, you can just pay for one dozen!  I asked for the owner Ross.  He proceeded to tell me Ross had left for the day.  I told the young man I wanted to get a phone call from Ross the next day.  His response was unbelievable!  He said,  "You can call him.  But trust me he is going to care even LESS about your order than I do!" I told him that I didn't care if Ross cared or not.  But he needed to hear how I was treated.   I was so taken back I couldn't believe he said that!  They packaged the cupcakes in two large boxes.  On the drive home they got tossed around and now the icing was everywhere and cupcakes had turned over.  No, I wasn't speeding. LOL.  They just were not packaged properly.  Other cake bakeries put their cupcakes in a box with individual holders to prevent this from happening.  To this day I have not received a call from Ross. So, with that being said I will NEVER go back to Best Dang Bakery.  Yes, they do have the best cakes but I will not pay their prices and be treated that way.    And I only gave them one star because the system made me.
