I don't understand why would people take their dogs to a facility like this, or why these type of facilities even exist!!!!! I'm new in New Jersey area and I searched for a facility near me and I found Best Friends Pet Care. Good reviews, so I decided to give it a go. I took my dog Saturday morning and needed him to sleep over and I'd pick him up Sunday morning. They were very nice and friendly, but the place is just plain awful. They were nice enough to let me in and get to know where my dog would be for 24h. I was paying for the day care and I thought he would be going straight to the play area, but they took him to a cage. It looked like prison. There were so many cages, like 3 or 4 levels of cages full of dogs and a smell, oh the smell was just disgusting. It was hot, humid and dark. They put my dog in the cage and I asked why he was not going to the day care and the girl couldn't tell me why exactly but she said he would probably be going in the afternoon after 1pm and around 4pm he would be going back to the cage and then stay there for the rest of the day until the next morning. And to put a cherry on top, after the facility closes there's no one around with the dogs. What the heck???!!! If I wanted him to stay at least 12 hours in a cage I would not pay money to do so, I would get a crate and leave him at home, at least he would know where he is! Nope nope nope, got my dog and happily pushed back my plans to give me some time to find a more "humane" place for him to stay. I will NOT leave him in a dark cage and alone. And oh, and we can't take our own pillows to leave with our dogs, they don't accept it. So please think twice before taking your dogs to a facility like this, this is not how we are supposed to treat our pups!!!!!!

Brought our puppy to training class with Domenic. He taught her basic manners and obedience and he taught my husband and I the foundation of training and how to break down behaviors and reward her for good behavior. Great class, highly recommended.

Excellent first stay for my puppy! The staff was awesome, caring and made my puppy feel loved while I was away. Saw my puppy on the webcam having a great time. Very efficient drop-off and pick-up.

Our family travelled from VA to East Rutherford, NJ, for a soccer match and we boarded our dog here just for the night. The kennel was easy to find and there's plenty of parking. I didn't interact with the staff a lot, they did allow me to walk my dog back to his kennel... however, they wouldn't let my daughter come back with me which was annoying. We're a very close family and she wanted to see our dog off for the night and couldnt. This kennel is NOTHING like Disney and we frequent the Disney world location. I thought they were all similar and the kennels here are long and narrow and super loud. I'd definitely bring my dog back, no doubt about it, but don't expect a 5 star resort. Just he happy they are affiliated with Disney.

Gotta tell you, Yina Moreno the assistant manager made me and my puppy feel at ease dropping her off for her stay. I highly recommend Best Friends. I drove 45 minutes but it is so worth it to know your puppy is getting the best care!!
