Clean and dog-friendly. It's not the nicest Best Western I've been to, but it's the best hotel you'll find in Santee.  It needs an update, but it was reasonably quiet (I'm a light sleeper and this is huge for me).  Bedding was just okay, but the mattress was a bit concave.  In the end, I slept okay, which is all you really need.  There is a pool and hot tub and vending machines that distribute both ice cream and frozen burritos for food.  Rooms have microwaves and fridge.  For those travelling with a dog, you're about 5 minutes from a dog park at Woodland Vista Park, so that was convenient.  Also there's a Starbucks nearby.

Hotel was comfortable and the employees were helpful  The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Good coffee and many choices for breakfast.  Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.  We just had trouble with the tub not draining.  I would still recommend this hotel.

Broken bathtub and shower.  I'm handicapped and have a hard time with stairs but wasn't offered a 1st floor room, just got nope your room is up the stairs. Rooms looked nice though, just needed some repairs.  A relaxing bath or shower would have been nice!  Instead I got a tub that wouldn't hold water or a shower so loud it gave me anxiety.  First time I have ever been unhappy at a Best Western!  :-(

Five stars because they delivered as promised. I will stay that again and recommend it my friends.

Caveats: Santee is not a resort destination, beach town or business hub. It is an off-the-beaten-path bedroom community. 

The room was clean and adequately furnished. The bath and shower facilities spotless, towels plentiful, and the soap and shower shampoo and body wash were probably utilitarian. (I always bring my own.).

The continental breakfast was great considering the room rate.  No made to order omelets or crepes. Cereal, bagels, coffee, pastries of the 7/11 quality, and a waffle maker. if you don't like that, there a number of nearby restaurants and do-nut shop right across the parking lot.

Top notch personnel. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Only issue was that smokers were using the non-smoking room and they left their butts and ashes in front of their door and I could smell their smoke through my vent.
