I was in town for two weeks with just my bike to get around and it was due for a tune up. I was referred here by a passerby and had a poor experience. Not only did they say it would take a week to get me in, but it would take a week to get my bike back. I told them I was only in town for a couple weeks and asked for the minimum maintenance, but they barely looked up from the computer. The guy told me a bunch of stuff needed to get fixed or replaced and gave me a quote over $120 + parts. I made a few calls and found two places I could get in within a couple days with fair rates so I went back to get my bike. When I told them why I was picking my bike up, the person helping me apologized for the misquote and said they could get me in today. The guy who originally helped me didn't even have the decency to greet me or take part in the conversation. He saw me come in and hid behind a bike in the back. I'm glad I decided to go for a second opinion elsewhere. I hopped over to North Portland Bike Works. They were so friendly and helpful here. They gave my bike a tune-up right then and there and found it to be in perfect condition, questioning what the guys quoted me on here and saying nothing needs to be replaced. In my experience, this place will take advantage of your situation and your lack of knowledge if you aren't an avid cyclist. I recommend shopping around elsewhere for a tuneup.

Overall I've had good experiences with the repair shop here. I do believe, like a lot of the other reviews say, they press you pretty hard on part replacement. If you look at any bike, you're going to find worn parts that could be replaced. Obviously they have an incentive to press customers on this because it means more $$ for them. With that said, they have always followed through and done great work on the repairs.

Full service shop with helpful knowledgeable staff. While you could definitely save money elsewhere you come in for an experience an anonymous Amazon seller can't provide.

My go-to spot when my bike needs some TLC. Today they came to my rescue when I found I had gotten a flat on my way into work. I figured it out at 5pm and they welcomed me in and fixed things up. I was back on my bike by 6pm and am so grateful for their knowledge and helpful nature. They even keep a history on my visits to help me keep track of the services my bikes need! I’ve also gotten some good deals on gear at this shop including my Ortlieb riding panniers, 2 for $100.
