Community Bike shop / Instrument shop / and Coffee shop. Making our world better by teaching life and job skills. Neighborhood resource center. Good Things
We have spent over 16 years trying to make this happen. It is now closer to reality than ever! We just bought the old Heartland Hope mission building November 2016. It use to be Holubars Shoe store. For 16 years we have not been able to afford rent and received no help for funding yet we keep saving and building and where able to buy this building that is in desperate need of everything. We both Work 60 hour a week jobs and very involved with our community. Once up and running we will be a full Bike shop / instrument shop / coffee shop / craft brewery with many nonprofit programs like earn a bike / instrument / coffee! we will have a large room for neighborhood resources and gatherings. We will teach life and job skills like customer service, life mentoring, welding, bike and instrument sales / repair / service. Coffee drink making and roasting. Brewing for of age folks of course. We have takin small steps to get this far with no outside funding. We have had a few great volunteers and help and a few donations of parts and equipment. We are located in the Real South Omaha
(42nd street east to river and I80 South to Harrison) in the Brown Park neighborhood business district of 21st and Q street. Only blocks away from Brown Park and Baseball field, Mars elementary, Boys and Girls club, Kroc center, Victory Boxing, YMCA, South Omaha Library, Bike lane, Sprouts South Garden, GI forum, and so many other great places. If you can help in any way let us know. We desperately need funding to get building into safe conditions as in Insulation and front windows and Door. We also need and Bikes, instruments, audio, coffee, tools, etc. Any items we can use or recycle as art or sell for funding. Or if your a company that can do insulation or windows or whatever for free or cheap let us know. Remember your community and neighborhoods deserves Ma and Pa shops like this that give everything back to the working people. NOT large corporate businesses that take from us and only give money back to their own pockets or the already rich.
