This is a clean and comfortable station. The staff on hand are friendly and helpful. There is on site security for those who would want to know. There are many vending machines here and there is a small cafe available just across the street.  This facility is well designed for comfort and is bright and airy.  There are abundant outlets for charging your electronics throughout and free WiFi as well.

Disregard anything you read about this station before. It is now brand new, shiny, clean. You can connect your phone and computer to recharge. You have free wifi. Friendly security guards are eager to help you find your way. There are new vending machines. It's a first class facility.

Station itself is pretty bad. Bathrooms are atrocious. One stall has no door, others have no locks. Dimly lit. Floors throughout station are very worn. Waiting area has old worn seats and benches. There are no vending machines. No real parking, only curbside or park and walk. No wifi, and you can barely get a signal. At least it's halfway warm inside.

The new Amtrak station in Birmingham is nothing at all like the old one!  The old station was in a dark tunnel.  The new station is bright and open with security on site and a view of the city on all sides.  You can make easy bus connections now because new station has Greyhound, Maxx transit, and Megabus all on the same property.  There's a cafe on site and several restaurants within a short walk.  Railroad park is about two blocks away.  This is one of the best train stations in the South!  Atlanta needs one just like it!

Strong amount of dinge but can't say it lacks character. The lobby feels like it was designed for a David Lynch movie and populated with colorful characters. Looking forward to seeing what the new station will be like when construction is completed.
