I can't wax eloquently about Blaine's, but we had a good meal here during our stay in the Smoky Mountains. We decided we didn't want to walk all the way down the streets of Gatlinburg or wait for the trolley in order to eat at our first choice restaurant, so we gave Blaine's a chance. 

The server was very nice and though the meal didn't come quickly, we weren't in any hurry. My Reuben was good - nothing remarkable, but tasty - and the homemade potato chips were also good. My wife loved her strawberry chicken salad, which also has raisins and cranberries and comes with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing that she asked for on the side, and which she also enjoyed. The ambiance seems to be roomy sports bar, but we were tucked off into a corner area which we liked.

If you are looking for great food and service you should go. We got a house salad to start and it was delicious. The entree was cube steak with broccoli, mashed potatoes and gravy. It was all good and can't wait to try something else next time.

We were there yesterday 8/6/17 Hostess downstairs was extremely rude. She gave me a nasty look the second we walked in! Our party of 6 was waiting to be seated, no one else was waiting with us. As we waited 17 other people came in & were seated immediately including a party of 7! We asked her how they were seated before us & she said we'd have to wait another 15-20 on top of the 10-15 we were already there for! We asked to speak with a mgr & she said we'd have to go find him! We did & all he said was he was sorry, didn't offer to try and do anything about it! As we were leaving we heard her being rude to another party that had just walked in! If you hate your job, quit!!!! We ate elsewhere & had a host, great meal, waitress & atmosphere!

As soon as I walked in I was quickly seated on the balcony as requested. My server seemed stressed a little thin, he was running back and forth and it didnt really seem to be that busy of a night. Had to ask for a drink menu. Had to ask for utensils. Had to ask for napkins. I ordered the huckleberry margarita which just tastes exactly like a regular margarita. Fried pickles were my appetizer which was extremely salty with pickle taste at all. Fried catfish was delicious! The tartar sauce tastes homemade and was also delicious. My second drink was a my LeConte sweet tea with was incredible. Didn’t HATE the place but I probably won’t be back.

We came here to eat on 8/19/17 at 4:45. The hostess was nice but when we were seated, we had to flag someone down to get menus. We then waited 30 minutes for two burgers and a kids meal. There were two tables in our section that ordered AFTER us and got their food BEFORE us. Our 2 yr old was getting antsy so I walked up to the waitress and asked if she could check on our food. She then ARGUED with me saying the other tables probably ordered something that didn't take as long to cook. She came back less that 2 minutes later with all of our food. We had to ask for silverware and when it was time to pay, she took our payment and spent 10 minutes "getting change" BUT WE PAID WITH A CREDIT CARD!!! If you're looking for good service, this is not the place to go. If you're looking for mediocre service and okay food... Blaine's is the place.
