I love bloc! The space is beautiful and I love the bank vault. The menu is large for a cafe and it's delicious. They are set up for success when it is busy with two lanes of ordering and completion of the order. The staff is friendly and always a pleasure to order from.

This place was a great addition to Union square. It has excellent coffee, a wonderful vibe with their decor and outdoor space, and great sandwiches and pastries. I usually get a breakfast sandwich here. One complaint I have is that their staff and options have already become a bit chain-esque. They don't allow much customization and one of the staff got annoyed that I was standing and watching them cook at the pick up window. Easily fixed issues though.

I have visited Bloc 11 with some frequency because it is so close to my apartment, yet every time I go I tell myself not to come back. The prices are simply too high, almost offensively so, given the quality of the food and coffee. An expensive croissant, and you remind me sternly that butter is extra charge? If you wish to give me attitude, at least back it up with skill - I had to ask two baristas before I found someone who knew the temperature at which they brew their espresso. The Intelligentsia coffee they sell hovers at around two weeks old, which is death's doorstep for fresh beans. Broadsheet on Kirkland blows them out of the water. 

Also: pay-only WiFi? Really? In this century?

My message to the owner is: either get over yourself, or upgrade your game.

The coffee is excellent. It is usually a busy place. I have not tried the food but it looks good. it is fun to sit in the safe on a winter's day if you bring a few friends.

I love the vibe at the coffee shop. Great place to relax and escape the cold. Delicious coffee too I must say.
