Story

The Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor and Museum is now home in the historical George E. Pew building on Central Avenue in downtown Le Mars. George Pew began his business in this structure in 1875, just six years after the town of Le Mars was incorporated. His general hardware and agricultural implements company was one of the first businesses in Plymouth County and the state of Iowa.

The entire building has undergone a transformation that marries both the integrity of the old building with some familiar features from our former location. We have also added a few beautiful and exciting new elements to the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor & Museum to enhance your experience. The Parlor’s marble ice cream bar, originally salvaged from the historic M&M Bakery & Café in O’Neill, Nebraska, as well as the iconic sundae sculpture are familiar cornerstones to the parlor. Our new location now boasts a grand staircase, private room for meetings, events and parties, and a specialty gift shop where guests can find unique items straight from the Ice Cream Capital of the World®.

Somehow the ice cream tastes better here then it does in the store. I preferred the old location but this is nice too. I miss the attached museum, but I like the view screens at the tables that explain the history. It's not easy to drive past Le Mars without succumbing to the desire to stop for ice cream.

Love it, really nice place and a very good variety of ice creams I would have to pick my favorite ice cream as the mint chocolate chip but I love almost all of the wide varieties of ice cream definitely stop and snack and even check out any neat little booths to help you learn other things and maybe get a little souvenir

The place was really nice. The building has 2 stories and plenty of places to sit. The main level has seating, the ice cream counter, and a small gift shop area. My kids loved it. All the people were friendly and helpful.

Excellent atmosphere, even better ice cream and traditional items such as sundaes and banana splits. There is enough seating for as many guests as you could possibly imagine to visit the parlor at one time. There is much more than ice cream, there are historical items, an excellent gift shop with many interesting items, I enjoyed the couches and relaxing environment in the upper level. Three photo center with giant props with the option to email your pictures it's definitely fun for all ages. I've also attended events in their lathe meeting rooms, which is great option for large groups. Another bonus is that they have a beautifully designed and well maintained restroom right near their elevator.
