Story

Applauded for serving some of the city’s freshest and best seafood, Blue Water Cafe is housed in a stunning brick and beam heritage warehouse conversion in the heart of Yaletown.

Executive chef Frank Pabst is known for his innovative and brilliantly executed West Coast plates, insisting on using seafood from wild and sustainable harvest, while sushi chef Masaaki 'Masa' Kudo is true to the Japanese culinary aesthetic of pure, clean flavours and ample portions that Blue Water Cafe has long been famous for.

Although we have not gone to Blue Water for over a year (we have gone over 20 times in the past), the food here is very good. I consider Frank Pabst to be one of the two or three best chefs in Vancouver. At Lumiere, he was incredible. When he went to Blue Water, I mentioned that he was wasting his immense talents. He has proven to be able to organize a huge staff.

If you want to have a taste of great west coast cuisine, this is your place. They have a variety of seafood dishes that are cooked to perfection as well as sushi. I always go for the sushi and sashimi. Had the seafood tower for a special occasion once & it had very interesting things like jelly fish - so nice to try when you are sharing with a group. Service is very attentive. Pricey

Top notch restaurant. I travel all over the world and as a "foodie" seek out places like blue water. I get to Vancouver twice a year and always make a point to visit this restaurant. Superb seafood, raw fish / oysters, and cocktails Cool vibe. Service a little slow tonight but worth the wait. The char prep - delicious!

Wonderful experience all around at Blue Water Cafe. The staff is truly passionate about the restaurant, the atmosphere is unpretentious yet very nice and special and the food... oh the food is absolutely delicious. Everything is so fresh and prepared by fine chefs. An absolute delight and an evening to remember. Treat yourself and your senses to Blue Water Cafe! It's a must go to in Vancouver. (I didn't take pictures because it would simply not do it justice)

Best scallops. Incredible sushi. Fantastic atmosphere. And not so loud that you can't hear your friends speaking. Highly recommended. The other positive reviews are not hyped up. Well worth the visit.
