There is no one on site after hours. If you arrive late you're on your own. We spent 30 minutes circling around the camp to find a free spot and we had reserved it in advance. Location is nice and clean. Has a lot of wildlife and birds.

Great campground at the south entrance of Sonoma Coast State Park and right by Bodega Bay. Minutes away from the beach with beautiful campsites. Keep in mind that you can make reservations, but they aren't site specific. Check in is at 12pm, but we arrived at 9am and were able to check in by 10am. I would recommend doing that because it gives you an opportunity to chose your campsite. We stayed on #4 and loved it. The campsite is huge, very private, but windy so come prepared!

Spent 4 nights here on a road trip from CO. Just couldn't pull away. Minutes walk to the beach, though not dog friendly. Don't let that discourage you. Dogs permitted in camp at no extra cost and park ranger was happy to supply a map of dog beaches minutes drive up the cost. Tons of dog beaches in fact.  My 3 working dogs were worn out, which is rare. The camp itself is spacious with good privacy, though location is key.  Showers and real bathroom were a treat after days on the road. Watch out for raccoons,  they'll rob you while you sleep. But they do look adorable when confronted about it, peeking down from the tree.

Really n ive campground really enjoyed it the host was very nice! We did have an issue with the raccoons the broke into the cooler and stole all our eggs. I did see some one and a tie down around there's so that's a good idea or in the car there is quite the racoon infestation.

Water was tainted and park staff did not seem to care.  Water provided by community of Bodega Bay. They flushed the lines while we were there and it stirred up rust and debris.  Campground toilets were clean and area quiet. Staff helpful and friendly otherwise.
