Story

Russian River Camping Guerneville, CA -
Schoolhouse Canyon Campground is one of the last true tent campgrounds on the Russian River. Located in a small Redwood grove, the park is one of the oldest and most beautiful campgrounds in the area. Please come and relax, camp with us and enjoy the beautiful Russian River valley. We have river trails and a camper's beach and we are a perfect home base for wine tasting, canoeing, bicycle tours or even a visit to the coast. We look forward to your stay.

This is now officially our favorite campground. The site was beautiful and Ranger Chris was so friendly and helpful. There is a little library where kids (and adults) can check out books while they camp. The campsites are large and the redwoods make a lovely backdrop. The campground includes access to a private beach and an orchard! We were able to pick peaches, plums and pears during our stay.

I have camped here a few times. No bad experiences. Bathrooms and all the campgrounds are kept clean and maintained very well. There are two sections for this campground. The lower section is for families. I camped in this section once. And the upper part of the campground is adults only. Which is where I have camped mainly. Chris and his family know the family business very well. The fact this is a family run campground says something great about this place. Keep in mind of your neighbors when you camp here. It is a canyon so noise does carry. But if you follow the simple rules there should be no problems. Thank you Chris and family for all the good times! See you again in July! 😀

Great old school family campground. Ranger Chris tells ghost stories and is very helpful. On weekends the campground is usually full but the way the sites are situated makes it feel like you're camping alone in the woods

Classic. Hand painted signs, nice chatty host... Even the trash cans are cute! Throw back to... I'm assuming... How NPS parks we're in the 60's. Very clean... Coin operated showers. Hand soap. Good times!

We just drove in but it was totally booked. Lovely family owned park with lots of mature redwoods, very clean and in close driving distance to the Russian River. I will definitely make reservations and and come back.
