Beautiful place, great atmosphere it happened that it was a sunny beautiful day as it had been extremely cold during the week, this made for perfect hiking weather, we did the Pine Beach Trail and let me say there is so shortage of beautiful views. Yes I keep using that word but for good reason. It was nice to see something different then end up right on the beach. Definitely loved the landing overlooking Gator lake. The water in the lagoon was pretty spectacular as well also seeing the remnants of the houses that were taken by Fredrick in 1979 was neat. One pretty trail and not much trash which is a plus. Kudos to a well kept trail.

I wish there where more places like the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. It is a BEAUTIFUL place to go and visit and hang out for a long time. It is a shame that everywhere that you look now is covered by concrete or another condo! The real conection to happiness and piece is through Faith and being in the outdoors. I just wish there was a lot more land and water that was protected from being over run by more concrete. AMEN

We have 5 kids ages 16, 14, 11, 9 & 6 We ended up doing around 5-6 miles. We enjoyed the trails & seeing some wild life & skipping rocks. 4 star because there is no restrooms that we saw at anytime on our hike.

I walked along the Pine Beach Trail, going about 2 miles from a pine forest to the Gulf Beach. The trail was well maintained and fairly empty, I saw less than 20 people the entire time I was there. The beach was gorgeous, definitely worth the hike. There were a few benches along the trail to rest or take off your shoes. The first mile of the trail was crushed gravel, the last bit was beach sand.

Hiked Pine Beach trail to the beach with my three year old. The roughly 4 mile round trip trail leading out of the woods through the lagoon out over sugar white dunes is best described in his words "this is flipping my mind Dad."
