I've gone to Brevard Zoo since I was five. I just went today with my grandmother and we both had a wonderful time looking at all the animals and talking to staff. Now that I'm moving to Buffalo for college, I have started to really appreciate how amazing this zoo is. It isn't too big, so you can go for just a few hours and not get exhausted- but has enough funding and animals to give a high quality experience to visitors. There's no brick or mortar to be found like in many older zoos (excluding the named bricks in the entrance, which are adorable), instead going for an entirely wooden/rope aesthetic that feels right at home with the Floridian flora that dominates the landscape. 
The animals are kept large enclosures where you can't always see them- which actually makes me happy because the animals can get away from the crowds if they want. They're all taken care of by people who love their job, and it shows.
It may be a small zoo, but it's got more heart than I've seen in the biggest ones.

This zoo is amazing! You are so close to the animals! The park and animal habitats are beautiful! You can zip line over the park or kayak through the park. (We did the kayak tour) My son fed the giraffes! We had a blast! I ❤ this place!

The best. My family loves it there. Best place to hang out. Meerkats are the  cutest animal there. Everyone needs to go a least once they even have a pool for tots. Enjoy

Good place to spend a day with kids.  Zoo has a good variety of animals. Liked the bird talk  and train jaguar shows/demo.  Employees and volunteers were very attentive.

Very nice nonprofit zoo. Completely geared towards children. They have a wading pool\splash pad area that is attached to an aquarium and petting zoo center. They also have opportunities to feed giraffes, lorikeets,  parakeets, and kangaroo. They also offer kayaking around certain parts of the park, zip lines and tree top walks as well as a train ride. The Cantina next to the train is very reasonable for food unlike most zoos and the food is actually decent.  They do not have large predator animals such as  lions, tigers, bears, and  hyenas. However they do have rhinoceros, camels, and giraffes. My children really enjoyed this and so did I.
